I think Jesse's coach told one insider/reporter and they shared the info. It is telephone game though. Original message could have been Bailey and just Bailey.

Still, we'll have a good idea of where Scroggins is going based on Bailey's decision...unless he pulls a fast one on everybody and picks ND.

Scroggins is not best buds with Bailey. His best bud is Anderson. He said he was going where Anderson went. But it turned out Anderson was not really wanted. He did get an LSU offer though.

Then it became Bailey. Everyone started saying Scroggins is going where Bailey goes. And sure they said things like that would be sweet yada yada yada...

In the end, he is going where he wants. That very well may be USC. I have heard nothing credible that leans me either way. I am sitting on the fence and it does not feel good.

Can't wait for this to be over.

I wonder if CLK didn't have a silent commit and ask Jesse to announce during that 25th camp, just for the national exposure. That really does sound like something he would do.
Then again...it also seems like something CUM would pull to not only get Scroggins, but to pour salt into Kiffins wound, by having him wait so long that most if not all the other options we have are gone.

I don't see where it would help USC at all (his recruitment isn't going to make or break a WR prospect's decision to go there)...and I certainly don't see why he'd need all that time to make a decision, especially after he stated it's to help boost recruiting.

I can't find out about any camp at Oregon this week/end, it happened June 17th as best I can tell, and I can't find a link to a quote from his coach.

It was the 7 on 7 tournament. That's what was in Oregon this past weekend.

Probably since he's got into trouble mentioning recruits by name in the past.

He never really discussed recruiting. He said somethings are coming down to signing day. And then discussed injuries which was the cause of the bummed context.

Thanks, appreciate yer help. Still I can't find a source that says JS will announce anything until July 25th. That date was annouced on July 6th/7th. Why move it up 8 days?

He is gonna announce at the elite 11, a camp for QB's the weekend of the 25th. It's what he wants to do. But you help booster recruiting to USC or UF? Neither needs it. That's my only piece of mind that he may choose UT. I think he wants to come here, but his Dad wants USC. As a Dad myself, I feel that's selfish of him and not looking out for his sons happiness. If JS wants to be a Vol, he should support his son and not direct his decision. You can't live your life through your kids. We may be revisiting this in a year to two when he's thinking about transferring after red shirting. JMO

Thanks for clearing that up, for some reason some folks thought JS might commit this week/end...I got on priceline to get a ticket from LAX to Knox. first week of sept. no direct flights and price was $377 per tic. not counting hotels and car rental...that's a lot to think about over 3,4,5 yrs...

The story about his dad having him do wheel barrow/walking on his hands type of drills, and Jesse's admitting that it was embarrassing...tells me a lot about his dad's thinking. Without a doubt, he's trying to live his own ambitions through his son. And he's dangerously close to wrecking his son's career prospects...by pushing him into a choice that's simply convenient for DAD...not Jesse.
If there was just Aaron Corp ahead of Jesse, I'd say go 4 it. But Mustain's presence there shows how easy it is to find oneself as a career bench-sitter at USC.

There's this new thing called "Rent"...and another called video conferencing. I know it's not caught on yet, but someday it will. :p

If Jesse thinks his prospects are better here, there's nothing stopping his folks from traveling a few times a year to see his games, and seeing his face everyday on MSN messenger or Yahoo/Skype, etc.
Other parents have made due before, this wouldn't be the first. What's more is, with all of his mother's family here in TN, what's to stop them from leasing their CA home for a few years and moving in with her relatives (at least til they can get settled)?
