Apparently, still no decision.

Wer'e just waiting for Jesse's coach and dad to have enough time to talk over dinner. :ermm:

I can't imagine what it is going to be like waiting for 25th on here. Unless he does announce with Bailey, it is going to be a LOOOOONG week.

Seems a bit ridiculous to act like Jesse really wants to come to UT but his father is forcing him to go to USC.

Lol Iv'e already promised to put Tim Tebow as my avatar if Jesse Scroggins go elsewhere. I hope Scroggins doesn't let me down.....

Why would there be a meltdown? It is already obvious he's going to USC.
Everytime a parent starts going public with their preference like his father has, you know the recruitment is over.

You obviously haven't been around here to long. Some will be suicidal. It never fails.

i keep hearing that he is not afraid of competition, likely talking about usc, so surely he wouldn't be scared of competing with the best teams in college week in and week out in the SEC, right? and i still don't know why he would wait to commit to USC....what's the point? announcing on a national stage would only help with recruiting, and neither FL nor SC need help in recruiting, and that's just a fact. i've heard it said that he still doesn't know where he will go, but why will he magically "know" on the 25th (or before at oregon)? and i'm trying to not read too much into CLK's comments on the radio, regarding not really knowing who the next QB will be, or not feeling good about it. i agree (and hope) that it could be a ploy. if he came out and said "oh yea, we've got our man lined up...it's going to happen..." then FL and SC are going to scramble to sway him even harder. just my $.02

good post.

for those (like me) that are eat up with anxiety about the whole thing, i recommend hittin the youtube and watching some eric berry highlights...it won't hasten JS's decision, but it sure does make a vol fan feel good!

I have read way too many of these posts but alot of people are looking at this in a whole different light than I think JS is. Many people have begged and pleaded with this kid about how much they want him at UT. They have said numerous times how if he comes to UT he'll be a starter as a freshman and if he goes to USC or UF he's going to sit the bench for 2 or 3 years....

Let me say this JS is a competitor, plain and simple. I will gurantee you he's a kid who when someone says, "Man you'll sit behind Barkley for 3 years...." He's thinking "Screw you, I'm better than Barkley and I'm gonna prove it." All this mumbo jumbo BS many people keep spouting about him not being as good as Brantly or Barkley will light a fire in this kid to prove everyone wrong. Do I expect to sign with USC? YES! One reason its close to home and they're already a national power, second he wants to prove his doubters wrong, and thats where many Vol fans are...doubters that have helped fuel a fire in this kids a&&.

So don't blame Kiffin or Reaves, put some blame on yourself for telling this kid he's good enough for UT but not good enough for SC.

You mean like when Bryce Brown's parents clearly weren't sold on UT?

nice post and that is very true about recruiting him harder that made me feel good bout that kiffin interview. and all the other stupid rumors im just gonna ignore. im still gonna stick with my decision to and say he is coming here but i have been wrong before so i hope he comes here. but ya im with ya on scroggins and im glad there are a few that think the same thing as me

Bryce is the best comparison, at this point. Jesse will make the decision and his father will support it.

The biggest difference, in my mind, is that Jesse's option to USC is not even close to being the poor alternative in Oregon that BB considered.

He has two good choices. One gives him a lot more playing time, but the other is the more proven alternative at developing QB talent and placing them in the League.

He's not considering UF with any real seriousness by most accounts. That makes sense and points to a rational decision making process.
