All hope is lost here guys....Hes USC bound. Today on the radio CLK said nothing about possibly getting good news on a QB within the next couple weeks and that the qb search could ride out til NSD. If kiff thinks hes gone, hes gone.

P.S. hes gone.

Where on the radio did you hear that. I'm going into denial mode. Then again, he was a gone last week too. haha. but if kiff said that chances aren't good.

does anyone here except Ooltewahvol(s) think Scroggins is coming to Knoxville? Can we basically write him off and move on? Is there still a legit chance at him?

Personally, I think the Titans have a better shot, but it will be a few years from now.

I don't believe that a coach can say anything about a recruit at this time, only after a LOI has been signed. Plus if JS is making this BIG announcement, he wouldn't want to blow that for him. JMO

They talked about the QB situation for like 5 minutes...he basically said we are screwed right now and in a rutt that they are trying to get out of. Every interview ive heard where Kiff is confident about getting a prospect he always finds a way to express it. He seems like a glass half full type of guy but today he gave no indication of getting a commitment soon. Considering Scroggins is about to announce you would have expected him to be more like "we are about to fix the problem within a couple weeks so keep a look out" or something along those lines. Fact is he didnt, and it could be a ploy but I highly doubt it.

I heard the interview today as well. It was more the attitude than what he had to say. Still, everyone we have offered has committed elsewhere. CK has what, 10 days to sway JS to Knoxville? Is the pitch, look man we put all our eggs in this basket, we are here 'til the bitter end with you? We never seriously looked at anyone else. I like CK's chances if he truley thinks this is the guy. The upside to this is that a team that went 5-7 last year is still in the running against USC and UF. I think that says something.

Screw this philosophy of "Low Epectations" Adams and others have. This team has largely suffered from chitty recruiting at this position for the past several years...and it has reared its ugly head a time or two ('05 and '08).
Getting to the SEC Championship and barely losing to the eventual NC, the season before last, shows that this is NOT your typical rebuilding project. There are just a few weak spots to focus on, and we are back in the thick of the SEC race.

Poor us...we so lucky to have someone like Jesse even consider us. What a load of poo!:bad:

I don't have a problem with that. I'd like to get the kid, but if he wants to stay 30 minutes from home, well there's not a lot CK can say or do. With 10 days to go we're still in the hunt and though in the poll I said I thought USC, I think we have a better chance with Rettig, Brunetti etc... off the board. We are going head to head with programs that can say "we play for national championships and heisman trophies etc.." and holding our own. Honestly, to get Bryce and Oku was a miracle and it seems like we're asking for another. If anybody can pull it off, this staff can.
