Why Butch Jones had nothing and EVERYTHING to do w/the loss to Bama

This isn't something to laugh about. I guarantee that a Butch Jones led Alabama team would never lose to Tennessee. Nick Saban isn't an idiot. The reason he hires Tennessee castoffs is because they're talented coaches. Butch Jones couldn't turn Tennessee around, but that doesn't mean he's...

Out of curiosity- last time we were this big an underdog?

Bama's overrated. Big time. UT will be able to put plenty of pressure on Tua, and I don't think Bama's D line has any chance to stop the UT offense. Bama's schedule difficulty is about to ramp up, big time. UT won't be their most difficult game over the next 4 games, but I predict Bama will...

Watching Miami v NC, we should get kicked down to the ACC

In all honesty, I think we should be relegated to the Sun Belt. I think we would finish 0-8 in the ACC as well. Our team sucks, and it's not getting any better. I would suspect we'd finish with about a .500 record in conference if we were in CUSA or the Sun Belt.

Out of curiosity- last time we were this big an underdog?

The real question is when will be the next time we are as big of an underdog. I predict this will be the biggest underdog spread in UT history, past, present or future.

How to have success against Georgia

Well, I guess we don't even have to win the coin toss then. I'm liking this plan even more. Does anyone think this is an idea Coach Puitt would actually entertain? I think it might work.

How to have success against Georgia

theFallGuy, I think you're on to something here. If UGA comes out overly confident, I suppose it's possible for us to win the toss, take the opening kickoff, and it's pretty much game on from there. At that point, I'd say we try to get Guantanamo a couple of tries to complete some passes and...

What is the biggest obstacle in the way of hiring a Heavy Hitter.

I hate to say it, but I was absolutely correct with this. UT is no longer even a better than average Power 5 job. We've been turned down by Duke, Purdue, NC State, and OK State coaches, so we can add them to the list. Next step is to offer the job to Derek Mason so he can turn it down, and UT...

What is the biggest obstacle in the way of hiring a Heavy Hitter.

I'm old enough to remember the late 80s, the end of the Majors era. You guys are delusional. If the last 30 years has been the glory days of UT football, then here are the teams who are ahead of them over the last 30 years. We're not even a top 7-10 job based on the 'glory years.'...

What is the biggest obstacle in the way of hiring a Heavy Hitter.

Mid 30's, been a fan all my life. Are you implying that I shouldn't be realistic about UT? Should I be a bandwagon fan? If I should only be a fan of the top 7-10 schools in the country, I'll just go be a Bama fan or something. Or UGA. Anyway, you're delusional if you think UT is a top 7-10...

What is the biggest obstacle in the way of hiring a Heavy Hitter.

In the world of the SEC, yes, top 7-10.

Currie: focusing long term and 0 an 5 is unacceptable in sec!

Thank you for the kind words, but no sarcasm intended. Let's be honest here. If you're ranking 'destination' jobs in the SEC, here's the ranking: Alabama Georgia Florida LSU A&M Auburn Miss St. Arkansas S. Carolina Ole Miss UT UK Vandy Misery I challenge anyone to prove me...

Currie: focusing long term and 0 an 5 is unacceptable in sec!

How can we say that he's not the guy to win championships. We're still building this program Brick by Brick, and I'm not ready to just blow down the brick wall foundation that has been built. Are you ready to do that?

What is the biggest obstacle in the way of hiring a Heavy Hitter.

I was specifically referencing the last few seasons. Let's face it, the Fulmer years weren't anything special. Beat UF once or twice, managed to squeak our way into a national championship victory against FSU's 3rd string QB, then all downhill from there. CBJ has been a success in rebuilding...
