I remember when this happened with Cuttcliffe. It's one of the reasons I have such respect for Coach Pruitt. He did the opposite. He didn't let his team down, completed the full season, finished what he started and won another National Title. This attitude is exactly what we need at UT.

I have always hoped that the SECs total domination would create enough consensus within A1 College Football to elevate the demand for a real play-off system involving all 10 conferences. Of course, the SEC would still dominate, but such a system would be more fair to the players and fans...

I don't have any except all the times he was wrong trashing the Vols while "calling" the 1985 Sugar Bowl. :) Keith Jackson was one of the most biased College Football announcers and it was clear he hated the Vols. Never knew why, but I really don't care...

Defense still wins games and titles, but you have to have some offense too. That's why Auburn got BAMA this year. BAMA had no offense in the Iron Bowl this year, and the BAMA defense was on the field way too long. Great defense wins, but you gotta give them a rest with a decent offense...

Totally agree with you :ok: Why should anyone complain about Coach Pruitt keeping his word after the experience with Kiffin, coming and going the way he did. Character has to start with the coach to properly influence the players. Can't have a great team without honor and character.

Not true. Every team gets a cut of the $$ after the Bowl Games. All this helps to build the best Conference in the country. SEC strong! But UT first in the heart that pumps orange :rock2:
