This one hurts...

SIAP, but I didn't read through this article. I would be glad to be the underdog this season just to surprise some people. Maybe if we were, the team would get a chip on their shoulder.

We have been the underdog for the better part of 10 years and it has never fired up this team. Truth is that underdogs rarely ever win which is why we remember the rare times they do

A person cannot be "wrong" about their own opinion. Their opinion can be wrong and based on faulty logic which his is... but since it is a communication of his OPINION... it isn't "wrong" in that sense.

Seems like you powered thru the column mad as hell and then started posting.

FYI...we agree with his "OPINION".........go do some yoga or something man.

Yeah. There's actually a lot of faulty logic. For one, he links the "hype" under Jones to Pruitt then says that because Pruitt/Helton didn't rebuild UT's O from the mess it was under Jones... that means that the good things said about various players must have been false.

I'm not one who thinks a high level program like UT and especially with the instate recruiting liabilities UT has can be "patient". I think Jones left some talent. But Jones' coaching, S&C, and player development were abysmal. I'm willing to give Pruitt a little more rope before declaring any good "hype" about players to be delusion or lies.
Yes, he does, and as far as Pruitt is concerned (not his assistants), could anything he has said regarding the current talent level be construed as hype? I've never heard a coach go off on his players the way Pruitt did after the Alabama game last year - essentially telling them that they would be recruited over. He isn't over-hyping the talent here. It is ridiculous to build an article around that premise.

No. I seldom if even "get mad" over anything here including some of the sniping.

The guy's reasoning just isn't sound. You can agree with his conclusion... but you should have better reasoning than he does.

My issue with these writers is that they never write a piece about how wrong they were if the crap they spew doesn’t come to fruition. They don’t take credit for their words when they are proven wrong.

What actual reason does anyone need to tell us to "pump the breaks" on a team that would have to fix a heap of problems in one of season?

Thanks for explaining what an opinion is because I was very confused about that part. That opinion looks optimistic now that we've seen one of the worst losses in UT Football history.
