Much respect for CJP for finishing what he started.

I've already answered it and you are incapable of comprehending.

There is an almost endless list of duties for a first time head coach to be working on to run a P5 football program.

Who's is the S&C coach? What is his plan for Jennings and Boulware? Did he want to salvage those relationships? There are 100 other questions I am not aware of that require his attention.

I'll also turn your question around. Is Saban and Bama so inept that they can't move forward without him?

There are coaches who leave as soon as they are hired, and coaches who stay on to coach their team in the post season. If staying on through the bowl season caused irreparable harm to the coach’s next destination, no one would do it. Pruitt’s time at Bama will be a distant memory come Spring practice and all the little things you’re hyperventilating about are being handled in one way or another. Don’t be a child, just because you don’t see it or read about it doesn’t mean it’s not happening. I don’t like the optics of it but I know Pruitt is not dumb enough to do permanent damage to the program that is giving him his first shot as a HC at a power 5.

Might be double dipping.. he is not coaching at AL for free.. easy money

Big time bonuses included in contracts for reaching certain levels in performance.Bama coaches lost money this year by not winning the west or the conference. Winning a natty would line all their pockets.

Never said it was dire.

Just a complete lack of prioritization.

All other P5 football programs are being managed right now. Ours is on idle. But go Bama, right?

it's not on idle. there's plenty going on with the rest of the staff. they're evaluating and making offers as we speak.

it's winter break so there's not much going on at all personnel wise. it's the dead period, so there's not much you can do recruiting wise.

it boils down to finalizing the last two spots on the staff, cleaning up the personnel issues with Jennings and Boulware (if that can be, and fulmer has already meat with Jennings).

would i prefer him to be in Knoxville? sure. but i don't see it as a detriment either.

go bama? no. but i've no issue with Sherrer or Pruitt doing well and being able to sell what they've done to recruits going forward.

they should at least let Pruitt wear an Orange hat with an white A on it though..........:)

Volnation,

I know that CJP has caught a ton of crap over staying at BAMA to finish their season and coming here full time since he was introduced. I personally do not feal that way. I really respect that CJP decided to finish what he started with the kids he recruited. I think this is going to mean something to a top recruit in the years to come. That his family can believe what he is saying because he is a man of character. I don't expect him to win a natty within 2 years here but I do expect him to do what he says and bring my beloved university back to its place among the top programs in the country.

I don't want BAMA to win ever but I am not stupid and the level of success the program has had is unbelievable. If we can take some of that and mulitilpy it here in KTown we are going to be in business.

I love my vols forever.
And he will always be a Gump for Life.

He has to prove otherwise, but I highly doubt his blood will turn orange just because he is a head coach now.

Organizations do not remain static. You are either getting better or you are getting worse. Our guy is moonlighting, so we aren't getting better today.

It just feels like he has treated the DC at bama better than the hc position at UT. Yeah I admit it's likely petty and childish to view it that way but I want someone to own this job and want it. Tired of feeling like second class to everyone in this conf and it doesn't help when it feels like our hc is doing it too
This. right. here.

This place is so predictable. Everyone’s congratulating Pruitt on his loyalty to his Bama players and his integrity, but if he would have jumped ship as soon as he signed with UT we would have threads patting him on the back for being a VFL
The thing is though, he didn't do that. He did what he did, and it speaks volumes. He has to earn our trust and show if he truly has any loyalty to UT. As far as I am concerned, he's an orange clad Bammer. I just hope he is Cutcliff 2.0 and not Kiffin 2.0. It's all on him to prove it.

Some of the comments here amaze me, or should I be a little more blunt, and say they disgust me?

Our new coach had made a commitment to players and he is keeping that commitment.

Of course, I would love for him to be at Tennessee working, but I respect him for keeping his word. I like the fact we can trust him as a man of honor. And the players he is recruiting and/or coaching will be able to trust him.

He is handling this with absolute class.

He will make Tennessee proud.

I would hope our fans will stop all this negative talk and get behind this coach and our program and stop sounding like a bunch of snowflakes.

We now have a good coach and he is forming a tremendous staff. The job is hard enough without all those who should be on board are sitting around trying to think up all the negative things they can come up with.

Would hope everyone decides to help row, or get out of the boat.

Talk about being in the zone. Alabama defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt turned to me as he was walking off the field and asked, “Who won the other game?”--- Chris Low. ESPN.
And then he said something about UT.

Nah, just kidding.

Totally agree with you :eek:k:
Why should anyone complain about Coach Pruitt keeping his word after the experience with Kiffin, coming and going the way he did.
Character has to start with the coach to properly influence the players. Can't have a great team without honor and character.

You are pointing out issues that are obvious. Do you think no one in the AC dept. or coaching staff are not addressing these points? I'm sure that these things are being addressed. I am also sure the aforementioned staffs don't really think it's any of our (fan base) damn business at this point just what they are doing.

you get to believe what you want to believe. in general i agree with that statement.

i do not believe that this a problem presently for us.

if you don't believe it's "dire", then how else do you describe it, if you believe "we're getting worse" as he coaches down there?

how exactly are we getting worse right now?

Honest question, you have a problem with what Frost did too?
Frost is leacing UCF for his dream job at his alma mater. Pruitt is leaving his alma mater for a head coaching gig. Frost is burning a bridge. Pruitt's is absolutely intact.

What Frost did was classy. What Pruitt did is keeping the phone lines open.

Is he in his office in Knoxville implementing his goals, his metrics, philosophies, habits, etc?

If Not, you're sitting still

For all of those crying about CJP, it looks like Dooley will be available soon. It appears that he wants to get back into the college game.
