We can take commitments from 100 players, but we can only sign 25 to LOIs by SEC rule. Outside the SEC 28 can be signed as of 2011. It's the Houston Nutt rule. Remember the year he signed 40 knowing many would not get in?
So you think 30 is our limit and it's a hard number? That is possible, but we are still recruiting a number of prospects. That's the whole mystery, I think. Lots of possibilities. Do they know somebody isn't going to make it in? Do fans interpret rules incorrectly?
I can't remember. Is 5 the...
So YOU say. Anybody with fingers and toes can understand the 25/85 limits.
We can bring in 25 in the 2014 class, period. The rest have to go on the 2013 class. I am simply trying to understand, as is everybody else, how we are going to fit so many in this cycle. I know the numbers will work...
And that's the whole point of my posting. I've seen all kinds of incorrect stuff on the net. Some of it may even be mine.
There is a lot of wiggle room.
We signed 21 last year, so we must have at least 29 we can give this year as long as any over 25 are EEs. I don't know how many we had to...
Agree. I have been saying he doesn't HAVE to count against the 2014 group of 25. I found this on Mr SEC. It's pretty complicated.
Over the past month, weve had a few folks ask us about our SEC Commitment Comparators. How do some SEC teams have more than 25 commitments when theres a 25-man...
What I am talking about is not how many total (I think it will be at least 30. Maybe more.), but how many EEs and how many on the first Wednesday. We can sign only 25 of those 30 or however many in February. At least 5 of those guys have to be EEs. Agreed?
The original discussion, and I'm...
Except that is against SEC rules. We can only take 25 LOIs from that Wednesday for 2 months.
The only places you will see these EEs on the 2014 recruiting list is on a service like Scout, Rivals, 247, etc. The school will claim recruiting victories, but it is, in no way, official.
Really? You owe us more than that, surely.
I think he is treated like a transfer except he loses no time off the field. He goes against the 85. That is all.
I wonder if we will ever know?
He's an EE so he's whatever they want him to be. We can sign 25 in FEB by SEC rule. Scout and Rivals will count him in the 2014 class, but the school has quite a bit of leeway on EE as to where they fit into the rules. See what happens. I'm pretty sure I'm right on this. This happens every year.
:hi:
To be honest, I'm not sure about much of anything, but he doesn't fit in either the 2013 or the 2014 class. He isn't in school now. He's like a free-agent, I think, like a bonus pick. I know he doesn't have to count against the 25 in FEB 2014 unless they choose to do so, but that just...
I don't think he has ever gone to college, so he should be like a post-grad, like he went to Prep school. He signed with NE last year and didn't get in.
He should have five to play four, AND he should only have to fit in the 85.
