    Pruitt, Donahue, Tennessee & Alabama

Some of my best Vols memories were generated by Coach Donahue. He will be appreciated always.

UT coach actively tries to help Bama win a championship

Or it could be that a guy made a commitment to his players and wants to see it through. After a coach who over promised and under delivered, I like a guy who does his best to his word to his players.

Rex Ryan (Mystery Candidate in NYC) ?

Another name that fits the criteria (I am NOT :hi:saying TN should hire him) is Lovie Smith, and he is in NY.

Pruitt wasn't good enough for MSU

Using that logic, Tom Brady is a lousy quarterback because dozens of professional organization passed on him round after round. He was passed up over 150 times.

    Fulmers competence

Currie was turned down by Gundy and Brohm. My guess is that Phil Fulmer has watched a bit more game tape than Currie and Haslam in his search.:hi: My guess is also that Currie went way over the budget that both he and Fulmer were given to get Leach in order to try to save his job.

Fulmer has contacted Tee Martin (Feldman)

We got rejected for $3 million a year. That's 25% less than CBJ was making. We probably offered a 50% pay increase, and he said no. We are not going to get a sitting head coach with the budget that Fulmer has been given. He does not get to decide what we spend. I would throw $10 million at...

Fulmer has contacted Tee Martin (Feldman)

Yes. Bigger rumors. Lots of rejections. Dave Doeren rejected us for 5 years at $15 million under Currie. Let that sink in. P5 head coaches do not change that often unless there is already a connection there from the past. Fulmer knows that.

    Taylor Zarzour and Greg McElroy

Hmmm. I am in Chicago/Northwest Indiana and #GBO. In Fulmer We Trust! (Because the other option was Currie and Haslam):hi:

Here's my theory on the booster war and coaching search we saw last week...

Ummmm...please no. I like to visit the Gruden threads at times. But if you end the threads, then the Grudenites will be scattered all across every board all of the time. I like my bitter disappointment in small doses, so I would like to keep them contained. We can visit and leave when we need to.

    Paul Finebaum Today...

I love the passion and emotion. But regrettably, we were always going to wind up with something like this list. If Petersen would come for say, 5 years and $6 million; I think we might be able to get him. But we are not offering anyone $10 million a year (even though I think we should). I...

    Official Jon Gruden Thread XLVII

Let's be clear. Up to this point the total budget for coaches appears to be in the $10 to $11 million range including assistants. We aren't going to spend Jimbo Fisher/Nick Saban money while we are in buyout limbo. My pure guess is a $10 million cap for all coaches going into a building...

    Fulmer talking to Miles

Wishing and hoping ain't thinking! This program needs credibility and stability. One NC coach hiring another NC coach who MAY bring in VFLs with championships does that. We have to stabilize and become Tennessee again before we win National Championships. This isn't magic. We have been in a...
