Fulmers competence

Can Phil make the right hire

Your post does not make sense. UT paid Fulmer millions of dollars for years, to do nothing after he ran the football program into the ground. You want to talk media circus? There will be NO stability without a great coaching hire. Put this in your pipe and smoke it. Fans are tired to the bone of watching badly coached teams lose games.

How did he run the program into the ground when he was run off? He only had two losing seasons his time. If it wasn’t for him, everybody wouldn’t be on here b!tching about returning to greatness.

Dobby4...you should have been fired a long time ago but we still put up with your azz...:)

GO AD FULMER AND GO VOLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The 2nd most profitable football program can't hire an experienced HC and is forced to settle for a coordinator, is this how Fulmer rescues the day?:eek:lol:

Leach is a goof. "Arrrgh". "Draw yer swords an swing aweigh"! Need a cracker! "For your wedding know the bride and her mother will be crazy". "Playas fat girlfriends gonna cause them to lose"....

He is nuts.

He also won 9 games and possibly will win 10 at a program that is losing 10 million a year, and whose stadium only seats 32,000 people.

Damn, Beverly Davenport missed the boat by not hiring an Einstein like you.

If she had hired me, Friday we would've introduced a new coach who could win 10 games this year in the Pac 12, AND his offense would be a matchup problem for SEC defenses.

On the flip side, no sports outside of Football and Basketball would exist to me. And basketball barely makes that cut. Which is how it should be. 95% of Vol fans wouldn't be able to tell me the Softball team's record.

I trust the man. He was able to recruit a staff and players to lead us to our most successful decade of football. Sure maybe he instituted a coup to secure his HC job. Sure maybe he started to lose the feel of the game in the mid 2000s, but one thing remains...he was atop all that in 98. All the detractors sure weren't decrying him when he was hoisting that crystal ball in Tempe.

If we cant trust Phil Fulmer, who can we trust. I would be ok with Majors doing this search too if he were still able. Outside of him...honestly who???

This will be the most anticlimactic hire ever because we are making it so. I will be very happy to have all this done, and moving on to actual football talk in the summer when the new coach is moving things along

***VERY IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER--Saban was 6-6 his first year, Smart was 8-4. Its the 2nd year that I will think we will know.

I don't know how much more of VN I can take. Heaven forbid I feel good about something going on in Tennessee football. Butch sucks...got rid. Currie sucks...got rid. Fulmer in...unbelievable that we would put a Hall of Fame coach who loves the University and wants us to succeed in charge of this hire.

I hope so. That would mean he hire someone better than Grundy,Leach and Jeff Brohm! We will see

Currie was turned down by Gundy and Brohm. My guess is that Phil Fulmer has watched a bit more game tape than Currie and Haslam in his search.:hi: My guess is also that Currie went way over the budget that both he and Fulmer were given to get Leach in order to try to save his job.

What 10 win coach from the PAC would you have landed? Peterson? Helton? Shaw?

And I totally agree about the other sports. Screw those other kids getting an education on the back of a sport that I don’t watch.

#1 Mike Leach. If he wins his bowl game that's 10 wins. Boom

#2 Revenue matters, and Tennis doesn't bring in sh!t. I'll let some sissy worry about Tennis and Rowing.

Soooo... he hasn’t won 10 games yet... nor has he during his time at Wash St in 6 years.

In fact he has only done it once in his 16 year career. 11-2 season capped off by getting run off the field by Houston Nutt in the Cotton Bowl.

Yep... that’s a guaranteed success story waiting to happen in the SEC.

Better HC resume than Pruitt, Tucker, or Steele.

Any of those hires are worse than Leach. That isn't an opinion either, the numbers prove it and numbers never lie.

Damn, ya'll need to lighten up a bit. Phil gonna be ok, we gonna be ok. you will see.

Keep your helmet on, Fulmer will be right back.

Well tell him to bring me my apple fritter and large coffee and to hurry the Hell up.

My trust has shifted to the other side of my vote. This is ridiculous. There must be tremendous power struggles going on with this hire.

His last hire ruined his career. What are y'alls belief that he can make the right choice this time?

I think no one with a memory thinks this will result in a good hire. We can only hope we are wrong and that the assistant coach he hires as our head coach will surpass our expectations. Not holding my breath.

And in a KSU jet. Rogue.
