I added 3 more. Still want to pile on cross fit? How many is enough for you coat hanger survivors?

Also you 2 are siding with an Auburn troll who has been the butt of many jokes on here in the past. Probably not the person I would be sharing an opinion with.

The abortion jokes are awful. You guys are arguing about an 18 year olds body fat for crying out loud.

The info came straight from J Hurd, and I seriously doubt he would lie about it to his family.

LOL thats all I need to hear man. Athletes spewing BS 24/7. Just like I bet Hurd probably claims he can run a 4.2 if you were to ask him. Why would any of this surprise you? These same kids have been over-estimating their physical abilities since HS (ie: everyone claims they run the 40 significantly faster than they do in real life, inflated heights/weights etc)

Half the NBA claims 5% BF. Even the centers LMAO. Andrew Bynum once claimed 8%...take a look at him, he's not even close:

nba_u_bynum_b1_288.jpg

Kelvin Benjamin claimed like 5% at the Combine while weighing in 240 pounds. This is what he looked like:

Athletes are delusional. Sub 5% BF is extremely rare and makes zero sense in power/strength sports like football. These dudes aren't 5% BF...they aren't.

Guess these guy's body fat was off to huh?

I swear today's generation of kids talk on subjects they know nothing about and don't even care to be wrong. I was always a pro life guy, but based on these boards sometimes, I'm starting to 2nd guess myself.

Did you even read the article you quoted?
He did a bodybuilding cut for a photo shoot. Said nothing of sustaining 4% bodyfat. In fact I would go as far as saying you just posted links that support out claim and not your own. So thank you for saving me the trouble. Although I must say, that was a good story about pro life and what not.

So for proof you showed pictures with no links. Sounds credible.

I added 3 more. And the article was in 1982 when Hershel was between the age of 18-22 like Jalen Hurd. You are speaking about a topic definitively but still not providing proof. Try again short bus.

Nick beat me to the Do you even lift bro, but do you even read bro? This is from your Dez article:

Anyway, different authorities have developed different recommendations for ideal body fat percentages. The American Council on Exercise (not an official government agency) recommends the following percentages:

For men:

Essential fat: 2-5 percent

Athletes: 6-13 percent

Fitness: 14-17 percent

Which is what the others said...
Also unlike the Aub troll, I'm not saying JHurd is lying, I'm more inclined to believe he's a freak of nature too

Lol. Guarantee I'd humiliate you and most of the other mouthbreathers talking out of their arse. Again, I provided proof that these athlete's had body fat under 5 % during the season. That was the argument. It's stated in the articles. My question to you are you guys sharp enough to even follow a conversation let alone show proof to back whatever your claim is. If you live in Knoxville any of you can meet me at NFC west club any night and I'll put my money where my mouth is. Look forward to seeing who shows up to back up their gator mouths.

Ok, so the internet say that TO maintains 3-4% bf while trying to sell you on his workout plan. While your at it maybe you should link some late night infomercials for further proof. Link something that tells me the human body can maintain 3-4% bf, as in something beside someone saying "hey look at me, I'm an athlete and I'm at 5% bf and the internet never lies" and I'll admit I'm wrong.

Btw, sorry about assisting in the derailment of this thread. You can think/believe whatever you want, it will not bother me whatsoever. I agree JHurd is a beast no matter what his bf% is lol. Gotta love the offseason

That's not how this works. You can spin it anyway you want. You made a statement. I provided several links. You've addressed 2, poorly I might add. Link something that says that they are not. And to be honest I couldn't careless if you believe it to be the case or not. My goal wasn't to sway you but to respond to you chiming in with troll boy and show you that you are both obviously ignorant on the topic.

A credible person on the board stated Jalen was below 5% bodyfat, and 3 of you started saying how impossible it was. I showed that it wasn't. If you want to keep arguing this point with no proof feel free. To be honest, I don't even think you 3 even know what you are arguing.

How did you provide proof? Because it showed up in an article it is therefore deemed real? The media is oblivious to this just like everyone else, all they do is perpetuate and spread the stupidity. Dez Bryant played at 3% BF? Take a look at him bro. If you seriously believe he is anywhere near that then you are clueless on the subject and have zero ability to gauge. At that BF% you would see noticeable fat loss in the facial region resulting in noticeable crevasse-ing and pronounced bony features. Take a look at Dennis Wolf pre-Olympia to see what I'm talking about. Even look at the guy in the back (Pakulski) and his cheek-region:

That's generally how it works. Faceless nameless people on the internet make a statement. Someone rebuttals. Then posters start to provide links to support their argument. Or in this case, one poster provided links, the other provided pictues of a bodybuilder suggesting he can guess people's bodyfat like a carny at a circus.

Bro I'm 6'8 325 pounds 4% bodyfat.

Prove that I'm not.

Its a self-made claim. You think those media agencies issued a physical to test Dez Bryant's bodyfat before they printed that article? No, a delusional athlete made a claim and they ran an article on it because there is no way to disprove it. Wow...that gives it total credibility.

There are countless photos of Bryant online. If you believe that he is anywhere in any near 3% BF in any of those photos then you need to get your eyes checked. The bodybuilding counterargument works because that is a sport that revolves around the athletes being in ridiculously freakish physical condition. You clearly know nothing of bodybuilding which valiantly explains why you are so naive on this topic. The level of conditioning between a pro bodybuilder in contest shape (REAL 3-5% BF) and an athlete claiming to be in that range (FRAUD 3-5% BF) is significant. Go look at any picture, its not even close. You can not perform these ultra-physical sports (most namely football) at those levels of depletion. The body loses strength and stamina. I brought up the facial analysis because it is a huge tell-tale sign. Your body stores fat in the face...hence why overweight people have roundish chubby faces. At 3-5% BF you are talking a level of fat so low that you can outright SEE it in the facial features. Cheek bones are pronounced, you'll even see outlines around the jay. Here is another example:

Yeah. Wasn't aiming that at you btw Nick, or anyone in particular. Just saying it's kinda turning into a big deal when it really isn't

I'm cutting to 8% right now. Currently a bit under 12% probably. Lost 18 pounds in two + months.

3 weight days per week, 2 sets per exercise, minimum cardio. Strength has increased like crazy
Welcome to LeanGains, bruh

I don't think I have seen 8% BF since I was in HS back in early 90s. I think 12% has been as good as it gets for me. I don't compete or anything I just don't want to be fat. I have never had an issue with gaining muscle quickly but when I was younger I could see it more. lol

From an actual medical professional:

ACE Fit | Fit Life | What are the guidelines for percentage of body fat loss?

The human body has a lot of variance, so I guess it's possible Hurd could be below 5%. It's just highly unlikely and probably unhealthy.

Yeah, I know. I don't think any of my comment flamed the fire too much. Mostly just my personal goals. Testosterone done got thick up in here, lol

It was as thick as freaking cement in here last night. I made a comment on it too, but it was a little out of line :)
