Don't think Franklin deserves criticism for this unless some type of underhanded details come to light.

What if the kids contacted Franklin and said I wanna play for you at Penn State? Same with Jones' situation. What are the supposed to do?

There's plenty to criticize the classless Franklin for.... this isn't a good reason IMO.

Talk is just that... Talk. It was 2 tweets from a teenager that were posted a year ago when he was committed to a "rival" school. Who cares.

Robertson, Evans, and Scott would be my ideal finish.

Weisman decommitted, then committed to us a few weeks later. He did not do it within the first 24 hours Butch was here.

Frankin - less than 24 hours takes two and offers entire commit list

Butch - took 2 total and both were weeks after he took job.

If you don't see the difference I don't know what to tell you. Out of respect most coaches wait a few days or at least give the perception of waiting. Franklin clearly could care less.

Playing devil's advocate.

He shouldn't. He's a Penn State guy. He isn't a fan of Vanderbilt anymore. He couldn't care less if they lost every game next year. After all, why not offer them? He and his staff put hours into each one of those kid's recruitment. If I were him, I'd offer all of them, too.

I'm not saying it's morally right, but it's a dirty business.

I see both sides of this argument but it's just part of the game. Sure maybe Franklin is a little slimier about it but...of course? He is James Franklin after all.

One thing about Wiesman, he was also very interested in UT. IIRC, he camped at UT, earned an offer, and we were very high on his list for awhile before he committed to Butch at Cincy. So when Butch left for UT it made sense for Wiesman.

There was a tweet implying that yesterday/earlier today too. I say it's conclusive evidence.

The tweet I was talking about is Jalen's stepdad said something like "Hopefully Jalen will teach you the Vol sign today"

What I see as Franklin's transgression(if there's truth to it) is having staff start chasing PSU recruits while still on Vandy's dime. That's kiffin-esque, which is downright sleazy.

Yup I almost guarantee as soon as he got offered the job he started calling recruits and telling them he offered them at PSU (before it was announced) and setting up OVs. That just low.

Offering them isn't the big deal, recruiting them on Vandy's dime to the detriment of Vandy is the problem.

Vandy fans deserve it though IMO.

Understand your point and don't disagree. Especially like your point about the time and energy he and his staff put into those kids' recruitment.

I will say that regardless of any situation, there is a right way, an honorable way to do things.... Franklin ain't likely to do either.

Great point. That being said, stick it to Vandy Snakehead!! I hope their class is absolutely decimated and that Franklin is the primary reason why. This is actually kinda fun to watch.
