Ainge......is not a winner!! Period

Here's what they're saying on the Bama board that has linked this thread . . .

only thing I can tell them.......is he is terrible with his back against the wall.......throws the ball away on 4th down, with 10 mins left he plays like we have 17 point lead trying to run the clock.......oh yeah, he has NEVER been good in the clutch.....other then that, his stats are great and he is awesome :)

After the center rolls the snap back to him and he's running for his life 15 yards behind the line of scrimmage because the play is blown up.

If I remember correctly Manning threw 4 interceptions in one half one year against Florida. No QB is perfect all the time and Ainge didnt play bad today. He played average but he is not the reason we got killed. Ainge needs to be better in the bigger game I agree but in most our bigger games we've been playing catchup and have abandoned our gameplan do to our defense playing so terrible.

Stat wise, Ainge is in the top 5.

But if you had a choice between Andy Kelly, Heath Shuler, Tee Martin or Casey Clausen... or Erik Ainge, who would you take?

Let's not even bring Peyton, Tony Robinson or Conredge in the discussion.

Well, I will say that Heath Shuler, though a fine quarterback, was a horrible team player. That only became all the more evident when he showed up in Washington with a less talented team and blamed all of his failures on his teammates.

I don't know. I think Ainge is a pretty outstanding quarterback. I think his finger has hurt him all year. The guy used to be able to throw the deep route. He's had major problems this year. It's shortened up our offense and really hurt us when we need a big play up the middle.

I think Ainge's pinky is still affecting his game, too...to the extent that it affects the deep ball.

never once said he wasn't an outstanding QB......stats are good.....just dont think he is a winner......nor has fire or desire......would never run for a first down, won't sacrifice his body.........OK, now we are up to 3 games in his 3 1/2 years.......Florida of 04 and Alabama/Georgia last year.....I am wondering if the defense didnt block a punt or intercept 2 passes against GA or punt return by Hefney against Bama would........ahhh, nevermind ur a Guru and a mod so I will just shut up....

Manning is leader.......Ainge is a puppet, that burns me up but its true....we have no leader on offense unless it would be Arian Foster.....but ur leadereship needs to come from ur QB.....and I don't think you can coach that

Yeah, it is Ainge's fault our team is terrible...

Ainge didnt play great today, but he is the least of our problems...

get real. our boys have scored close to 30 points per game and this is the first time they fell short. Dfense was AWFUL. They gave up 41 points!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know I am gonna get it for this BUT it doesn't matter who is coaching, if you don't have a QB that has fire and emotion you're always gonna be "mediocre"!! Ainge showed no intensity, no emotion and was very lackadaisical with 11 minutes left in the game....I agree he has great stats but he can't throw the deep ball!! I know alot of you are going to disagree with me......but he plays with no enthusiasm and is not a leader!!

Ainge is the least of our problems. Besides, how is it his job to fire up our horrid defense? Look at our offense, we've averaged about 32.5 points this season. I think it would be the fact that our defense sucks that has gotten us killed.

O K

:whistling:

OK, what??? Maybe you should quit trying to pin the problem on someone other than our coaching staff. And yes, the coaching staff does matter. Ainge has done a pretty good job this year even with the "pinky incident". Let it go. Our coaches are the problem, not Ainge.

True. I can't say enough how our D let us down!!!!!!!!

OK, I posted my idea already

let's hire Randy Sanders as head coach......Cutcliffe as asst coach. Charlie Weiss as Offensive Coordinator with Dave Shula as QB coach, keep Trooper as WR coach, bring in Gruden for defensive Coordinator and have Bill Cowher as linebacker coach......then Dave Toub for Special Teams.....move Phil to asst AD/emphasis on recruiting......who for RB coach??

What ya think?? :whistling:

he could show a lil more emotion and want it more.....again, might not be our problem but he still isn't a winner.......he lays down

When your one-dimensional on offense, it doesn't matter who your qb is. He could be Joe Montana or Joey Harrington. If you can't run, it doesn't matter.

i didn't say we COULD run. even so, what does that have to do with not throwing down field farther than 12 yards?

I think that has to do with the playcalling. Ainge has got a pretty good arm.

i'm not disputing that. but then, why was the longest pass thrown by UT in the game against georgia not thrown by Ainge? playcalling. if ainge can throw it, then let him throw it. for more than 12 yards.
