not bad. that OK, FL, GA stretch is not the same as it would have been 5 years ago.

Coverage bust are expected early in the year but at this point in the season should be a rarity. I really question this staffs ability to coach these kids up and scheme.

As the coaches say, I'll have to watch the film, but I'm not sure how many of the plays Matthews made were busted coverages as opposed to our guys just physically not being able to make plays.

I'm referring to progression from game one of this year. The team was better earlier in the year than they are finishing. Everybody's writing the KY game down as a win. I predicted a loss to Vandy and if that happened a possible loss to KY. This team will struggle to score against Appy State at this point.

I think they will have a tough time with Dobbs at QB. That's my point though. He isn't ready to be starting, but we're stuck with him. A bad QB will drag any team down.

I will say that I felt good about how the defense handled Mathews until the broken coverage play at the end. Those screen passes happened all day, but they took Mathews away once he crossed the line of scrimmage. The defensive game plan worked great, but it the offense negated it.

I'm still of the opinion we should buy out Oklahoma if we can. I know that doesn't say great things about how we feel about our team, but we really need some rent-a-wins to start getting some momentum.

There should be a good leap forward with a full offseason under this coach staff & the recruiting class coming in. The Big 12 is pretty suspect and OU is one of the reasons why. Tennessee can win that game.

We should buy out of nothing. Those tough losses will become wins at some point. We can't continue to recuit lights out being scared.

QB play was definitely the glaring weakness. I really hope Fergy is beter than what we've seen from the QB position this year.

Heard the stat this morning..... 3 offensive tds in the last 4 gms/16 qtrs.... we're not gonna beat Kentucky, especially on the road.

Don't disagree..... in a normal UT football world..... this ain't normal. We'll be underdogs in all 3 games.

Maybe. We have some tune ups before. Fla and Ga are not exactly world beaters this year either. Ok is not scary either.

Ok, first off, it doesn't matter how bad Florida is, how many injuries they have, you name it.... that's an automatic loss right there. Georgia has much more talent and will be very, very difficult to play with, much less beat next year when they're healthy in Athens.... at least by UT anyway.

Btw, there is no such thing as a tuneup game in regards to our current team. Every FBS team in the country would give this team a struggle. I'll rest my case after next week's loss to Kentucky.

We are 2 and O next year going into the 3 game road run. With a healthy QB and another year of growth we will be ready to play. To say arky state is going to be trouble is just being silly. We lost to Vandy yesterday. A pretty good Vandy. Not the 2 wins a year vandy of five years ago.

Edit: you act like we've never beaten Fla.

Your argument has no power behind it. Tennessee was going to finish 6-6 or worse, no matter who the coach was coming into this season.

If you want to judge his play-calling last night, fine. But calling him a loser because of his first year at Tennessee shows how ignorant you are.

you do not comprehend that losing more games than he has won constitutes being a loser in his SEC tenure, and you deign to call someone else ignorant?

i just looked up ignorant in the dictionary and sure enough, there is your photo.
