"Malone won't be done any time soon with recruiting and the Vols will continue to recruit him hard, but if the Vols want to add the Gallatin, Tenn., star they will have to beat out several other teams that may be in better situations right now than the Vols."

I don't think it's likely that he commits now with Booth, Jackson, and Lauderdale on board... but having those guys already is the reason why it might just happen. That class would be SICK and he knows it. Last year 3 receivers (Hunter, Patterson and Rogers) all performed at high levels together. Obviously, there are other potentially great receivers already on the team (North and Croom for sure) but who knows... They don't call us WRU for nothing!
The rules of the recruiting game continue to evolve. Used to be that the kids waited until late into December to start taking official visits and committing. Now coaches want their commitments early so they can focus more on keeping them rather than having to start from scratch all season long and then have to start the process all over again. The kids can focus on their senior year in high school, which should be the greatest year of their young lives. It allows them to enjoy it before many of them enroll early.
one rule that needs to be changed and may never be is why in the world do you force kids to take their official visits their senior season after the season starts.. why can't a kid take an official during the summer before their sr year or during their jr year. if not the jr year at least let them take it during the summer. as you know a school can do a lot more for a kid during an official than an unofficial and some kids would like to take their officials during the summer and commit before the year and not have to worry about recruiting at all their senior season. there are a lot of kids that would love to enjoy as you said what could be the greatest year of their young lives.
With Gaulden committing, and us trying to "put up a wall around the state," how are we doing with Wilson and Malone?? We already lost an OL to ND, but have I think 5 of the top 10 in TN, so doing well.
With how bad we have been in the last couple of years we can't expect to get everyone we want out of TN.
i am not saying you don't know this already, but you really don't have to if you can find recruits out of state.. recruiting has changed soo much in the past 15 years. there are no more borders when it comes to recruiting. it's all national. you just get the top targets on your board and if you miss out on a few then you go with other guys that you like who fit your system.. fans sometimes get too caught up on where a kid comes from instead of the quality or match a kid is that you bring in..
God quit talking bout Malone!He ain't coming here.Really don't want the poser!Just stop!If he doesn't wanna be a vol,F*** em IMO.
Thought this was a good side by side.Won't be posting anymore! So many idiots wanna project who goes where, when they don't know where anybody will end up!If y'all know so damn much, go coach somewhere!
Actually, I don't think the issue with Malone is a space concern. Tennessee gladly would save a spot for Malone if it can get him, and I don't think the Vols are ready to give up on him at this point. I just think there are a couple of things he likes better about other schools right now.
Thought this was a good side by side.
