OddFuture, are you on summer break, or do you have a seriously awesome job? Bc you have more time than anyone I know to provide insightful posts on this board haha.
I'm actually in a Political Science class as we speak :p but this summer I took off of work as well so I've had extra time to patrol VN :)

Enjoy it. It ends too soon. I'm studying for the bar exam at the moment....assuming I pass, I expect to have much less time to patrol these boards in the future. :/

My sympathies, I've taken two of those and don't care to ever take another. Good luck!

I've been trying. Before i was working 20 hr weeks taking 18 in classes. Felt like hell lol. I couldn't even imagine law school. Good luck with that man :)

Unless Malone has made it clear to the staff that he doesn't like UT for various reasons that Malone is entitled to, I hope the staff is still pursuing him. I still think this team is very short at true outside WR's/deep-ball threats.

I guess I am in the minority.

We could sure use Malone but it's his choice we should not get mad if he chooses another school. He needs to go where he is the most comfortable. Hard to figure why he turned on the Vols and maybe he didn't can't believe everything you read. Good luck wherever you go Mr. Malone. Go Big Orange

Complete BS. this guy is on the exact same level if not better than North.

Malone is a finesse, solid technique, good routes WR. He's excellent, but which of his measurable lead you to believe he's a better athlete than North? North is bigger, faster, stronger, more physical, seems to jump better (that one is just opinion).

No I'm with you on this. I think Malone is a stud, I'd love to have him at UT. The attitudes towards him on here would be completely different if everyone thought he was a Vol. Lots of butthurt in this thread IMO.

Malone has been taught how to play the position by a former NFL DB, who has taught him techniques to beat various DB techniques. Add to that, his frame and speed and you have a future early round NFL draft pick on your hands.

As I stated a month ago, we were not atop Malone's list and everyone jumped on me, because a couple of UT recruiting guys told you otherwise. I'm not a program insider and have never claimed to be, but I do know the people involved here. We have a lot of ground to make up if we are to have a chance.

Malone wants to play in a program where he likes the offense and one where he feels he will be best utilized. He wants to go into a signing class that is bringing in a top QB with whom he can grow with as a player and passing/catching combo. Everyone talks about Georgia and Clemson, but UCLA was the team that had his eye a month ago.

He will make the move that fits him best. Wish him well if he chooses to go somewhere else. He did not grow up as a UT fan in his early years in Virginia and people pushing UT on him at school is kind of a turn off.

Absolutely not. Malone has his games. Marquez is much better at everything he does... Malone's highlights are nowhere near as impressive as Marquez North's

I'd put Malone against North as far as technique and routes and things like that, but athletically speaking, it's not close.

Missing Malone will hurt, especially him being instate. Hopefully we still have room after Booth. But it takes time to develop at WR in the SEC, and I honestly think while he may be on the same talent level as Kameel and Lauderdale I think they will be able to contribute greater earlier. Also we need to temper our expectations with North for this season. He will be a monster, but like I said its such a tough transition from HS. Don't kill me for this, but does anyone think North might be a lot more raw at receiver than most think? I think it may take a year for him to be a reliable contributor.

The qb in this class should have no bearing on where he goes because most of the time the qb in that same class is not the one they are catching balls from during their collegiate careers. I hope the people around him are telling him this.

"Fresh off of recent visits to Vandy, Louisville, Kentucky and most recently Florida State, Josh Malone is very close to announcing his final five which are also the five schools he plans to visit officially before committing and enrolling early in January. It sounds as if that top 5 could come next week.

He's said publicly that Georgia will be on the list. The rest of the five is as yet unnamed.

One school that i do not expect to be on his list is Tennessee. Despite his Crystal Ball reading overwhelmingly in the favor of the Vols, I'm hearing that Tennessee is not going to get one of his five visits and is essentially out of the running"

Smokescreen IMO:loco:

You and I think like that, but not Josh. It is important to him. I asked Brent if Josh Dobbs or Riley Ferguson impressed him-that they were a tear ahead of Josh and should be in position to throw to him. He was not impressed. he really wants to go int with a class with a hot shot QB alongside.

Would not be shocked at all to hear Malone drops Tennessee altogether. I am sure the kid wants to play early and with us stacking highly rated Juco WRs, I think there would be a good chance he would not play early here. You don't take Juco's unless they will see the field day 1. Jackson, Lauderdale, Croom, Harris, North, and others. I get Malone is a great talent and is highly rated. You can only play so many kids at a time. With 17-18 WRs on the roster for 2014, I think the numbers would make other schools more attractive. JMO

Wouldn't you rather have Malone than Jackson though? If Malone wants to come here we need to make room for him.

I want get mad and pissy if Malone goes else where but I don't and will never wish a player good luck if he goes else where. If players do not want to come to UT that is their choice but if they do not come here I do not care if they ever play a down in collage football I wish the best as far as I hope they do not get hurt but I do not want him to go to UGA and become a all SEC or great player at all.
