'14 TN DB Rashaan Gaulden (UT Signee 2/5/14)

He's intense but not crazy. He'll run the hell out of you but he knows the game. Our players will want to play for him due to his style of coaching. I'll describe him as an intense teacher. Guy knows the game and has innovative drills set up just for ball skills and such. He knows both positions equally well but his safeties stood out at UGA to me. But the job he did with Bruce Thorton at CB while there(he was a converted RB) was crazy.

Good deal. Depending on our personnel, you think we will run an equal amount of zone/man? I want to see some CB/S blitzes and a good bit of secondary help in the run game.

Also with Gordon gone, somebody will have to step up at nickel... I'm thinking Jaron Toney will keep tabs on it at first (since he has experience) but JRM is just too good to keep off the field.

Potentially, I think McNeill benefits really well off of CWM's teaching. Kid really wants to learn and he's a competitor.

Thorton was one of many that Georgia beat us on. We were coming in second to Rodney Garner on many Georgia kids after he went to Georgia.

Butch is straight killing it on the trail however. This is shaping up to be one our best classes ever. He must have one heck of a staff to recruit like this before he coaches a game. This class is unbelievable. I had hoped we did well in-state (meaning better than Vandy), but am overwhelmed by this start. And there is so much left still out there to still reel in. In particular I want us to sign the Jackson kid from Cali. And of course some top notch d-tackles.The Berry's are a wish of mine too.

Hurd is an ABSOLUTE JUGGERNAUT! He seems to be a 1-off proto-type and he appears this way as a junior in high school!!!

We have a few good looking backs that will still be here after this season, but I'll ignore that for a moment...

Hurd & Paulk as a backfield tandem... that will be like having Barry Sanders AND Eddie George in the backfield at the same time!!!

Add in the stud WR's, the rising QB's, an O-Line & TE's w/ a very high standard of play and we may just see a level of illness never before known to mankind! An illness so deadly that it kills anything and everything not wearing 'PANTONE 151'!!!

With defensive players like Gaulden, TK2, and other stellar defensive commits, we may also see a similar illness on defense too!!

Its like having 22 Rod Wilks.

Have no idea because I don't know what Jancek will do. I want to see what Foreman and Sutton do in fall camp. Hope one of them can overtake Toney personally.

Yeah they are going crazy recruiting. I just need them to go crazy at the DT spot. Need an impact guy there desperately.

Extremely late for the party but BOOOOOOOOOOMMMMM!! I'm currently thrusting air humps and throwing down shots of jack. Bald eagle is flying in the back yard and the 13 stars and bars are rippling in the breeze. Merica!!

Exactly. Although I'm thrilled with this class, and probably want Jackson more than anyone else (purely due to his ability), we need a couple of elite DT's and DE's... badly.

"Gaulden is a prospect who covers a lot of field as a safety and is especially effective tackling in space and in run support. I think he'll be a free safety at Tennessee but he could also be effective at strong because he's a hitter and not afraid to come up and hit bigger guys. He's adept at avoiding blocks and getting skinny when he needs to because he can struggle against bigger blockers.

"He has solid ball skills and reads coverage well and I love the way he closes, he's very sudden to the football. He could also be a nickel back and come up and cover slot receivers in passing situations or even play some corner on the outside in some instances, but his strength in not in solo coverage, it's in reading and reacting and providing support over the top in coverage.

"This is an athletic kid with a good frame who needs to get bigger and stronger and improve his ability to turn and run, but has great upside because he's a physical player and a hard worker."

-Mike Farrell

Gaulden can and will likely be our "Brandon Flowers" boundary corner. He is physical and very instinctive. He will be allowed to sit on everything. #CantWait

i have been loving this young man's skill set since I first saw his initial highlights.
