So, for the sake of argument, why don't you rank your scholie players top to bottom. Chop off the top 25 or so with the exception of a couple. Come back and toot your horn 3 years from now. You do that and CDD will wipe your lizard ass up and down the field.
No. Until Coach Dooley actually underperforms I refuse to admit he isn't the man for the job. Losing to top 15 teams close does not count as underperforming. People need to quit acting like he is the reason Tennessee's standards have fallen. 3-4 years ago no way this team beats NC State or is even competitive with any team Tennessee has played to date.
i don't know man. if given another 3 years, i think it's an even money bet that dooley can instruct the team on how many men are supposed to be on the field and where they are supposed to line up.
after consulting a farmer's almanac, you can't water bamboo that quickly.
it's science
I've been on the fence about Dooley but have finally accepted the fact that we have to go through yet another coaching change if we want to win championships. That being said I could never hope the Vols lose.
Um in 2009 we beat SC that was ranked 21 in country... Not that it counts or anything... Also happened to beat GA and lost to Bama on a blocked kick at the end of the game... Bama didn't beat us by 20+ or anything this year tho... Def see where Dooley needs atleast two maybe three more years...
I always think it's funny when people have to mention they are an alum of the university. Like it means their opinion is more important than someone that didn't go to UT. News flash....I don't care that you're an alum.
NO.. Terrible OP, terrible.
If you root for the Vols to lose then you need to re-evaluate why you call yourself a vol.
Fans of pro sports teams openly root for their teams to lose all the time, once they've been eliminated and are jockeying for draft position. Nobody questions their True Fanhood.
Rooting for UT to lose to Troy would be effectively the same thing -- rooting for a short-term loss in the hope that it brings about a long-term gain. I can't do it myself, but I understand the sentiment.
It matters cause alums look at things differently than non alums. Alums do tend to care about the integrity of the team which Dooley has done a good job of. Non alums tend not to care so much about that. But only wins. We get embarrassed when negativity news comes out about our school. Losing games in during a tough rebuild everyone knew was going to be the case isn't as embarrassing. I use to hate checking uT news every morning yrs ago cause of it. Now I'm doing the same cause of so many people are hurting the team by posting a lot of crap. Mainly allowing the Gruden PR machine to use us to help gin up interest in him. Not saying he wouldn't come here but lets be honest and call it what it is.
A buddy of mine double Econ/finance major so not a dumb guy was about to jump off the ledge after MSU game. I talked him down. Once calm he is still for giving cdd more time. Even after the USC game. Now if we lose any more than its tough to say its not justified even if you believe he needs time. My buddies drunk redneck game out after MSU game he admitted, but once he calmed down he remembered the difficulties that is rebuilding a program/business.
Saying that we fans/alums aren't looking at it logically is ridiculous and insulting. Honestly the few that are left are probably the most reasonable. Some like me sit here and feel his pain seeing rebuilding struggles he is going through during tough times.
That's my professional opinion not just my opinion as an alum and fan. I can care less if any of y'all agree or not cause none of y'all have done a good enough job to convince me otherwise.
Let's go Dooley's UT Vols!!!
I have a lot to learn in pro circles then. I have never rooted for my GBP to lose. Do you mean that the loser teams get higher draft picks? Not trolling.. I seriously don't know.
Thanks!
In general I agree with this. For example, the Bruce Pearl arguments a couple of years ago were mostly split right down the middle -- alums wanted Pearl gone over the ethics violations; non-alums wanted to figure a way to keep him around. I would rather lose games than do things the wrong way.
Having said that, I have two degrees from UTK and I'd like to see Dooley fired tomorrow morning.
