I'm gonna say this and it isn't meant as negativity. I believe it's highly likely this season turns into one of our worst ever because of all of this. Gruden is about the only prize at the end that would ease the pain of another WY/KY type loss.

Hello, 2008.

Skeeter said he'd be suprised if we didn't get rolled by uSC. I assume that's based on practice views/reports. It won't take much for these players to hang it up.

So who can I send my gas bill to? I just wonder if USuck fans will tough talk my 8 year old nephew like they did 2 years ago. Classy folks as always.

OP brings up a solid point and I'm curious as well cause this transaction would cost the school loads and loads of coin - And don't respond with, "Clay Travis says so"

Couldn't do much worse if they brought you in to call the defense.

If I was the DC, there would be better tackling,no missed assignments, more blitzing..The DB's would stay close to their perspective receiver, and the safety wouldn't be more than 15 yds from the LOS most of the time...If the players don't do what i say, they will sit on the bench for a while and will replace them with someone who will obey.

Watching CP get only 3 to 4 touches a game is as painful to me as Wyoming and KY

Certainly a lot of distractions. Not good. If not for those, this team could go 8-5

1st Bold paragraph:

Not according to those that have seen a MOU

2nd Bold paragraph:

Dooley is done. End of story. The evaluations have already been made, and the decision that he will not be back next year is final regardless the outcome of the rest of the season. I can't stress that more strongly. When it actually happens is the only matter that is unclear at this time. His actions/attitude/mouth/losing have sealed his fate. Barbara has already visited and poured a 40oz on the ground for "Precious".

3rd Bold paragraph:

Hubbs tells what he is told he can tell. He will not jeopardize the gravy train he has going with the UT AD. LWS is a respected poster. I like the guy and have nothing at all against him; however, his access was hurt significantly after the separation with Fulmer.

What is a MOU?

You didn't get it either. It was explained clearly.

I'm sure Dooley has a few supporters on the team. No matter where you work , not everybody is going to like the boss.
But these players are not going no place. Especially the Jrs . If they do then they just played suicide with their careers. I know for a fact Dooley isn't loved by these players like people wants to believe. It shows on the field and sideline.

The recruits would love him I think. I have no evidence to support that but I think they would like him. Great players make great coaches and I think he could get the great ones in here. I have no idea how successful he would be but I think he could recruit well. I bet we wouldn't have any QB issues.

Regardless of whether or not this deal has really happened or not (I believe it has), here's what I know:

1) Dooley has lost this fanbase. I have never been so deflated concerning Tennessee football. I hate expecting to lose games, because I don't believe that we have a coach competent enough to win a game where we can't just out-talent another team.

2) Tennessee needs to be taken seriously again. Obviously, we're a joke on the football field right now. BUT....when you make a 10 year/$50 million dollar hire, NOBODY laughs at that. You're serious about football, then prove it. You're serious about winning? Prove it. You're serious about getting back to a National Championship? Prove it. Building facilities is great, and I'm glad we have that new facility, but that doesn't put W's in the Win column. Recruiting budget is huge? Great! But not if you can't sell success. If you want to convince the fans and the football world you're serious about not taking a back seat, then you make a big coaching hire. Period. There's a reason why the power schools are power schools. They put their money where they want their pride to be. Make a big name hire, and if you fail, then it's not because you didn't try to get the best.

3) Make this happen quickly. The longer this stuff goes on, the worse things are going to go. If Dooley knows he is done, he probably ain't going to try half as hard, and the players will sense it. If he gives up, then the team will too. Regardless of the fact that he's a terrible coach, the players like him (and so do I, he's a likeable guy, I wanted success for him). If he hangs on without being fired, yet knowing it's coming, we could see a Vandy loss, or another UK loss.

4) The only reason we make a bowl this year, if we do, is because of our schedule. Even if Dooley makes a bowl, and we finish 7-5, I'm not applauding. We should expect bowls, not be surprised when they happen.

5) I think Chaney becomes interim. He is the one who has been here the longest, so he probably knows what's going on better than most. Just my guess.
