If he wants his salary. If he refuses, he gets nothing. He agreed to be an "assistant coach" at UT. His contract does not require that he be the DC. He will have materially breached his contract if he refuses to be an assistant coach.

Is Gruden going to want to keep him? I know they coached together at Pitt years ago but would he still keep him? I doubt Hart is going to make Gruden keep anyone.

Eff it. If he gets butt hurt over it, call him a co-defensive coordinator in title, them make him work out the LBs at practice and in the position meetings.
