'15 JUCO RB Alvin Kamara (UT commit 6/21/14)

Maybe this kid is all world but 5'10" 190 and only runs just under 4.6?! Maybe his stats haven't been changed since he was 14 or something but his measurables are not very impressive. What's he got that Bama, Clemson, & the Vols see that I'm missin'.:unsure:

Only UGA fans believe that Cootie's offer had nothing to do with IC. But most seem to think different. Meaning that Cootie who happened to be IC's best friend since they were little got a scholarship to solidy IC to UGA.

So my comment means it does not appear now that wasting a scholarship on a player that had no other DI offers was worth it now since IC got arrested.

Of course it was a package deal, anybody who says or thinks otherwise is nuts. Bama would have done the same but they did not have any spots left, they were at like +10 over the amount of scholly's allowed after their 2011 recruiting class.

To be honest I do not think IC was going to UA at that point and UGA did not need to bring Cootie along, which is why it was funny.

But with Crowell now off the team I think this only secures Kamara to UGA and would not be surprised to see Dye added with him.

Visiting UGA as far as I know. And if Foster does flip it would be UGA. I do not think AU is the team after the incident in Auburn during his last trip. To be honest if Foster is going to I just wish he would and get it over with and definitely would rather it be at UGA instead having tohear AU fans go on about it.

I will not go into all the details but the short of it was Foster was there with a few other recruits when L Phillips was shot. Phillips is Foster's cousin. After seeing what took place you can imagine how messed up he might have been. The next day AU was having some recruits visit and Foster was suppose to as well. But Foster decided not to and I can understand why. But when Trooper found out he was not coming he got upset with him about it. Basically told him it was more important to be at AU than worrying about what happen.

That is the short version I am sure you can probably fill in the blanks from there. Also that just shows you how classless Trooper is and AU should have canceled any recruits visiting that day. One post I saw was that the reason D Walker ruled out AU( not sure they ever had a chance) was he did visit that Sunday and was amazed that Trooper joked about it and was laughing it up as they went by a room where alot of the players gathered to have a type of vigil for the ones that died. Sort of hard to sell we are familiy when people on the staff act like that.

FWIW when OJ Howard did not attend BCW, Trooper called him on the phone and basically chewed him out for it. If AU ever had a chance to flip him, they no longer do. Lets just say when the dad got on the phone it did not go to well fro Trooper.(this all came from a poster that is friends with the Howard family)

I continue to seriously doubt that Kamara will commit to UGA and also believe that at the moment, he is
is most likely to sign with Tennessee on NSD. Even if we do not sign Alvin, I do not think UGA will be the winner for him.

I posted this in the Derrick Henry thread but I willl here too. IMO if Kamara does not choose UT I think it would suit us best for him to go to Alabama because then Derrick Henry will come to UT. I Really don't see Alabama taking four RBs

With IC gone and even more play time available. It only puts Marshall and Gurley ahead of him and with his ability he could take them both for playing time.

It's simple: just convince them to play other positions, or, that they'll get a shot at their preferred position first but then might have to move if it doesn't work out. From what I've read, both Kamara and Henry have at least listened to Saban selling them on versatility in his system, rather than just being solely running backs. We'll see how it plays out. Quite frankly, I don't really care. We'll get the guys we need in the end.

Kamara seems to be starting to play these fan bases harder and harder. I wonder if he is a kid who wants a surprise or if its to keep people off his back. He rarely has been committal at all about his top group or teams. I think he is playing it very very close to the vest.

We need to get him up here, if we dont we are out for sure, but if we do, I think we are in it.
