'15 JUCO RB Alvin Kamara (UT commit 6/21/14)

I have believed for a while now that Kamara goes to UGA and have posted that in this thread. My guess either at the Opening or Dawgnight he will commit to them now. With IC gone and even more play time available. It only puts Marshall and Gurley ahead of him and with his ability he could take them both for playing time.

I also would not be surprised to see Henry go ahead and commit to UA now. If what most people believe that he will end up at UA I would not be surprised to hear him commit soon.FWIW

Funny how most people and sources generally just equal your homeristic take on things.

Well I do not think I included any sources in my post there. In regards to people I was actually referring to all the rival fans including UT fans that continue to think he is UA bound. I was trying to be sarcastice because I have that for atleast a month now.

The rest is my opinion on what I think Kamara will do, never said I had a source, I am just a poster like everyone else on here. Which if you actually support a team do you not have to be a homer most of the time.

I don't see how anyone can honestly say they believe Kamara will be a Vol. What would make you think that? MzTerry said he's keeping his recruitment quiet?

Yeah, quiet on the Vol end. He's visited everywhere else he's interested in but Knoxville this summer.

He's not coming here. Stop being played.

Assuming we have a good season, I still believe he will be a Vol come NSD. I think that for now, he is just enjoying the once in a lifetime experience that only a few kids are blessed with. The absence of Tennessee talk or open visits is deflection, in my opinion -- just a smoke screen.

We shall see.

Agree 100%

Clemson and Georgia battle IMO

The same clemson that is supposedly number one for dye and d green too?

Wow. Key to success: win a pitifully weak conference then get blown out in a bowl game against the winner of a pitifully weaker conference.

What does it matter if he hasn't been on campus this summer! Heck I'd rather him visit with Mzterry and crew come football time....game day experience will make up for the lack of visits in the summer. Just let it play out, he will be seeing alot of this :loco: and will envision himself running through the T and doing the same! Theeeen if he still isn't talking about the VOLS then we can worry but till then let it be.

Go VOLS!!!

He has been all over the place visiting schools (as would I) ... yet he is still un-commited. He might commit on Dog Whisper Night, or Thursday at Tiffanys, or some other gala affair. Or he might enjoy himself, watch the season, and join his best friend in Knoxville after a very successful season put up by this UT team.

Again, he is taking the best shots of the competing teams, visited and yet still lists Tennessee after not setting foot in Knox County over the last few months. Bottom line - win this fall.

Talking about playing with T Jones in an interview today with ESPN

“He and I have talked about playing together,” Kamara said. “Two backs -- the No. 1 and No. 2 backs in the state of Georgia -- that would be crazy. We were at the Alabama camp, playing in a 7-on-7, and we were on the same team so we were in the backfield together. I know Coach [Nick] Saban was loving it because we were just killing everybody. At Alabama, they have a few backs, and whoever works hardest gets in that 1-2-3 rotation. We talked about having a pretty good shot at that.”

“I don’t get tied into the, ‘Come in and play,’ or ‘We will give you your number’ and stuff like that,” Kamara said. “I don’t buy into it. The best thing they can do is put the depth chart in front of me, tell me what you want to do with me and I will go from there. There aren’t any tools that will make me buy in. I want to have a solid season as a freshman. I don’t want to come in and fizzle out and have people say, ‘Oh, he shouldn’t have went there because he isn’t doing anything.’ I want to get some reps in and learn the speed of the game. Then in my sophomore year I want to pick it up and get rolling.” ...

Since Alabama is the biggest competitor to beat for this particular recruit I would say that info is pretty pertinent.

Did y'all read that quote from AK well? Everything that he's been taught was said in that quote, and I've told y'all several times too.

He doens't have to be in a rush to do nothin' ...... PERIOD....

Sounds like a smart young man. Wants the information with no hot sauce. Bottom line - he will make the decision he and his family believe is best for him. I hope he gives us a strong consideration because I think we meet his criteria. With Neal, Lane and others, AK wouldn't have to come straight in and take the bulk of the snaps (although he probably could handle it). Then sophomore year, unleash the beast.

That is exactly what I was thinking when I read the quote.

AK sounds more mature than most young 'uns going through the recruiting process. The quote supplied by TW (and thanks to him for all his information) demonstrates that you have been doing good work with him -- and of course with Jason as well.

Don't change a thing in what you are doing with them. The only suggestion I might offer is that some time when you and Alvin are having a serious conversation about his recruiting experience, you might let him know that you are proud of him and his accomplishments, but if he does not end up at Tennessee you are going to dump a whole can of "whup ass" on him.

Ha! As I was reading it, my thought process was, "this sure does sound like a certain WR that we recruited in the 2012 class." Hope the end result is the same!! :hi:

Don't see anybody saying that he does.
