'12 VA DT Korren Kirven (Bama signee)

I think he just wants to wait until Wednesday. I think we will get one of the two- Kirven/Patterson. Both would be epic, but if we can get one - everyone will be very happy- personally, of the two, I would like to have Patterson.

I don't think we get Kirven or Patterson.
But, I do think we land Q. Davis and Leggett and carry two schollies to next year, when we really will need them.
Will still be a great class if that happens.

you've been consistent with this view and i certainly concur

Yes. I do not claim to be an insider or expert, but I know the Lynchburg area and that region. I want KK more than any of the other recruits, but people need to realize how much pressure there is to go to VT. I will be very pleasantly surprised if he picks UT on Wednesday.

I've thought all along that he's enjoying the process, the attention and wants to make his recruitment exciting for everyone. Kids from the Lynchburg area rarely make waves with national media. If he picks VT early in the process, nobody would have ever heard from him.

Good point. Had the parents made it down, do you think we would have had a better shot?

So what do we think? No news is good or bad news in this case?

I could interpret it both ways.

He doesn't want to come out and say that the visit was good, but he still likes TN because he doesn't want to expose himself to instate pressure since he is leaning to TN still.

Or he knows he is going to VT now and doesn't even need to get out in the public and talk about anything.

I think option one sounds pretty possible!

This is a level and understandable answer and I can live with it either way.....This is the right way to deal with it and hope he is All Vol but if he isn't I give him credit for the way he has handled his recruitment......

I don't think the parents visit would have made a huge impact. Ultimately, it's Korren's decision. He has serious interest in UT. The fact they were going to visit is proof of that. IMO, he was planning on going to VT for a while, and UT came on really strong. But if it's 50-50 or close to it, the home team usually wins out. Just my 2 cents though.

I actually feel it would have made a huge impact. I think the parents want him closer to home and he wants to be a Vol. In the end the parents and all the VTech pressure on him wins out.

This.

VT was the favorite from day 1. Not saying it's impossible, but people should prepare themselves for this one.

Agreed. We were always playing catch-up here. I could understand so much positivity about signing him if he and his family had just visited us this past weekend, but I don't see why so many believe he's a lock, or even probable. Everything points to VT.

That said, it would be stellar to steal him.

If everyone will just treat this as a nice surprise rather than a sure thing, we don't get disappointed. Just my 2 cents.

Very much. If UT adds no one else, it is still a very solid class that adds quality players at positions of need.

Besides the 4* we are all excited about, Watson might be the fastest guy on the roster the day he shows up. No less than Jay Graham says that A Hill has speed at 225 lbs. Sentimore is a 3* LOL. This is a good class.

I still think the fact that the parents were going to make a special trip without Korren to view a school (not university) speaks volumes. I honestly don't think it mattered that they didn't make it, they may have got info they needed from other avenues.

I'm remaining cautiously optimistic here. Learned huge lesson from Dawson last year, FWIW.

Don't be trying to dampen our hopes after you said we were in a very good position going into the weekend. Don't you do it to us skeet. Don't! :)

I just stated a couple of fcts. I still have no reason to feel any less confident in Kirven. Im sure the coaches have spoken to him today, hopefully i hear something soon.

Kirvin had a really nice visit to VT and was complimentary but at the end said it was still down to 2 and he had not made his decision.
