'12 VA DT Korren Kirven (Bama signee)

Here is my take, after his UT visit he told his parents "I am going to Tennessee." So they said, "okay well we just want to go back and check out the academics." Then they could not make the trip and told him, we trust your decision son. All VOL. At least I hope so.

Would be great. I remember when most everyone thought Jason Whitten would go to VT because his brother played there. He fooled them and signed with Tennessee and you see where he is playing now.

So what do we think? No news is good or bad news in this case?

I could interpret it both ways.

He doesn't want to come out and say that the visit was good, but he still likes TN because he doesn't want to expose himself to instate pressure since he is leaning to TN still.

Or he knows he is going to VT now and doesn't even need to get out in the public and talk about anything.

I think option one sounds pretty possible!

I agree. If it's VT and everyone is pushing him that way, why not just commit like Dalton did on his visit to Texas?

Yeah i understood the avi part just not the free avi reference. so what do you think? bad idea or not?

I don't see what it would hurt. As long as it doesn't go into some creepy diatribe that makes our fanbase appear over the top. I.e. the flooding of Jacobs twitter/facebook when he announced he was going to Florida.

No news is good. If it is UT, once it is public it is also final.

And before anyone thinks I am being negative with that comment. Vol lean by most accounts, pressure to go elsewhere, coaches involved, yadda yadda.

I know it seems as if we have strong momentum with both, but Kirven and Patterson would both be considered nice surprises to me. No one really expected Tennessee to be such a strong factor for both until it got a lot closer to NSD. Cant wait for Wednesday!

I think people are reading way too much into this. Some kids just want to wait until signing day to announce, regardless.

See James Stone and Antonio Richardson the last few years. They stayed home but waited until signing day to announce.

It would be a monumental upset if Tennessee landed him IMO.

This.

VT was the favorite from day 1. Not saying it's impossible, but people should prepare themselves for this one.

If everyone will just treat this as a nice surprise rather than a sure thing, we don't get disappointed. Just my 2 cents.

Good advice to take:thumbsup:..I think I will just say that I'm not very confident that we land him, I was yesterday, not so much today..I waiver more than some of these recrutis do...I change my mind everyday.

I think you're right. Bottom line there's no advantage to saying anything until he's faxed in his loi.
