'11 MS JUCO DB Izauea Lanier (Tennessee Commit)

So Aubbie sends Lanier packing for a couple of HS kids..now the number #1 DB(Marcus Roberson) on their board picks Texas Tech..WOW!

Lanier's offer to Au was on the condition that he have his grades in order to EE in December. He didn't do that, so he & Au went their separate ways.

IL getting admitted to UT is huge IMO. He def wasn't a sure thing. Anyone care to summarize his article on TOS?

Basically it says that he crammed so much into that Math course he didn't get a chance to work out like should have. He's at 6'1 185(if I remember right). He says he's in good shape but not the best shape. And he's looking forward to the first day in pads so he can hit somebody.

Good for him for busting his butt in the classroom to make sure he got in. I'd much rather have an IL who has been admitted but needs a couple weeks to get back into shape than an IL who didn't get admitted.

I thought those were disallowed by freak. If not yes I will take a bet that Lanier will start.

Didn't know Freak did so. If so, can change it as follows:

If you win, I'll add this tag to all posts for one month: "Mike Hamilton is best AD Tennessee could ever ask for."

If I win, you'll add this tag to all posts for one month: "Phil Fulmer is the best coach Tennessee could ever ask for."

Winning defined as Lanier starting more than 7 games in the season.

Fair enough?

I like it. I only want a caveat if he is injured the bet is off. If healthy Lanier will start

Seems a little ridiculous. Suppose Teague or another DB starts the first three games and then gets a season-ending injury and Lanier finishes out the season despite not being in the top 2.

You do not have to believe me that Wilcox gave Terry Joseph a pass by midway through last season because "We do not have a single SEC caliber DB" but it is true.

Moore and Lanier were brought in to play.

More shocking quotes that are also true are like the one that the guy shared about hearing Chaney tell an RB "We do not have a home run threat"

The tag bets will be amusing no matter who wins.

Also, good to know Lanier has a top talent little bro. This seems to bode well for us.

It would seem to bode well for us, but as you know, you can never tell. I am excited by that news regardless though.

Lanier is a good talent but he isnt on Moores level, Lanier will def see some playing time but he will battle w/ Teague, Gordon, & Evans for the other corner spot.

Jmo from what I've heard in my digging around he's really good. They said he was the man everytime he stepped on the field in HS and that Auburn was stupid for not taking his committ. Got a feeling Coleman will be his biggest competition out of all the guys on campus. He has size and physicallity on all those guys. We'll see what happens we he gets here but I'm feeling more and more like the new guys including Coleman will see a lot of time.
