Anyone recall where the article where Cam basically said he wanted to be named the starter before committing to a school came from? I've searched frantically but cannot find it.

I thought it was just being said that he was saying that not a direct quote just the word on the street. IIRC...

I am stilling hoping for my Hannukah present as for now...

He's actually changing his tune some in the latest article on Rivals. He basically says he would like to play in a PS offense, but he's really looking for a program that is going to fit him.

No, it was a quote from Simms. I just cannot find the article.

If he has changed it's tune, it's because he's still pandering for a UT offer.

Isn't Newton an EE as well. If not I don't see an offer.....

I would love to have him. But honestly it isn't looking like it is going to happen. I think he will end up at Miss St. That would probably be the best choice for him. He would have a chance to really make an impact on that program....

Blinn College won their first playoff game 21-15. Newton was injured during the game and was noticeably limping. He was held to 15 yards rushing on six carries and 160 yards passing. Blinn had only 298 yards of total offense. Blinn put up 60 points on this opponent during the regular season. Shows you what a healthy Cam Newton means to Blinn this year.

Newton is an EE so that theory is shot 182. I haven't heard anything to this effect, but I think the coaches are still looking at Newton. The fact that he hasn't received an offer yet speaks volumes though. I doubt he gets one. I also think the coaches have seen something in Stephens that makes them think he could do just fine next year.

Looks like we are saving room for other 09 committs(not at qb though). Rob Lewis on sunday said we could possibly sign 10 guys that nobody even knows we are after at this point, things are looking good for the future.

stephens will not do half the job jonathan crompton has done, hes not got the mental toughness imo, after watching him blow up on several ocasions, i said before i knew anything about lane kiffin and the season even started that crompton would do fine this year, he had a shaky start after that tune up game, but sam wyche said he could play QB in the off season and, sam wyche is one of the best QB guys ever.

He seems a little immature. If he could get that under control and adopt the work ethic Crompton has he could be good. He has an NFL arm.

BRYAN-- Cameron Newton says he feels no pressure as he and the Buccaneers prepare to hit the road to battle the Bulldogs.

The sophomore quarterback, who transferred to Blinn from Florida, says the Bucs have had a target on their backs since the first week of the campaign, so the final week of the regular season will be no different.

The Blue Crew and Navarro are both 8-&-0.

Newton has completed 138 of 208 passes this year (66.3%), for 2,066 yards, 20 touchdowns and 2 interceptions.

He has run 74 times for 496 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Newton's 2,562 all-purpose yards top the Southwest Junior College Football Conference by 975 yards.

Blinn and Navarro kick at 3pm Saturday." Those are some pretty good stats!...To bad about his attitude problems, He would be a great player for us.

With the recent events with the arrest this kid will not recieve an offer bc the staff wants NO character issues on the team
