stephens will not do half the job jonathan crompton has done, hes not got the mental toughness imo, after watching him blow up on several ocasions, i said before i knew anything about lane kiffin and the season even started that crompton would do fine this year, he had a shaky start after that tune up game, but sam wyche said he could play QB in the off season and, sam wyche is one of the best QB guys ever.

Let's see....take a chance on a CN and hope he's matured and not a nucklehead, or hope Stephens stays healthy and hope Lamison and true Frosh in Bray doesn't have to play. I think the staff would like to red-shirt Bray. So, where does that leave us? Some say Simms, some say Cam. We will have 3 QB's next year in Stephens, Bray and Lamison. I think Lamison can be ok as he gets the system down etc. Remember he came to UT in August, so that didn't give him a fighting chance. But, with a season under his belt, we should see his potential in the Spring. It looks like Stephens or bust.
+1. Cameron may be better suited for a spread type offense, but I can't help but look at the transformation taking place with the Titans, with Vince Young. Many thought he wasn't a good fit for them either...wrote him off. They still run a pro-set, but also run some shotgun and spread option plays that flat out work magic...with the threat of VY and Chris Johnson.Cam Newton would give the vols their best chance of a 10 win season next year. If Stephens or Lamaison start 6-6 is the best vols could hope for and it could be worse. Bray needs to redshirt next year and be starter in 2012 after Newton leads vols to national title in 2011.
The Blinn Buccaneers defeated Navarro 45-34 to win the the Southwest Junior College Conference championship. Cam Newton, recovered from an ankle injury suffered in the previous Navarro game, completed 21 of 29 passes for 237 yards plus three rushing touchdowns.
Blinn head coach Brad Franchione noted after the game that Newton doesn't smoke pot and recently gave up his habit of robbing people outside of convenience stores.
