Josh is not the guy

I know Peyton Manning will definitely would eventough that would be a risky hire...
Peyton Manning is independently wealthy and has zero interest or need to coach. IF he wanted to coach, he'd almost certainly choose the NFL where his knowledge of the game would be applied to men who play full-time.

Manning leaving his family for college recruiting and coaching would be dumb personally and likely a disaster professionally as college kids aren't his audience.

You're crazy to think he'd consider tarnishing being Peyton Manning the player for Peyton Manning the coach.

Look at what happened to Fulmer: great coach, miserable AD.

Your right Peyton Manning has zero interest to coach anywhere else, but Tennessee and I bet he dreams at coaching at Tennessee.

Wait wait wait and how do you know college kids isn't his audience?? Isn't there a Manning camp for quarterbacks and he is the Senior associate of director so I think he is good with kids.

I doubt he will care about tarnishing his reputation of being a HC for the University Of Tennessee and i bet he will recruit pretty well and has a pool of assistants he can call for him to join.

Yeah I understand the Fulmer situation but, I don't understand what that has to do with this subject as Danny White is a pretty good athletic director especially him listening to the baseball team and his constituents to hire Josh Elander.

Agian even with me saying all of this, this will be a very risky hire...

The Manning camp is about a week, actually shorter, and it exists BECAUSE college kids need mechanics, not the deeper kind of knowledge Manning brings. It's about putting skill position guys in a place to learn LATER from their coaches by giving them foundational knowledge.

Peyton dreams about his family, not coaching. Again, he could've walked directly from Denver into any NFL locker room in the country as a QB coach or assistant OC. ANYWHERE. He's easily one of the best QB minds ever and would be an asset.

He doesn't want it and REALLY doesn't need the chaos of the college NIL and transfer situation.

Peyton lives in Denver. I know his son is in Chattanooga (for some ungodly reason) but the family remains in Denver, as far as I know.

Yeah I understand that and I honestly doubt Danny White would even look at that direction even if Heupel got fired.

Uhhh... He went 11-2 last year his first year and he is undefeated this year by beating the #3 Oregon and I don't think this Tennessee team can beat Oregon in Heupels 5th year!!! I think he is a major upgrade to Heupel and you're crazy!!!
We'll agree to disagree. Oregon was RANKED #3 at the time. So what? They were extremely overrated. That 11-2 last year was built in beating mostly bad teams. It's a reactionary take.....flavor of the month for those who don't know any better

His son goes to Baylor

Oregon is not overated and Indiana is the only school that Oregon lost to and they beat everybody else this year. They are still ranked #6 in the nation so I don't understand what you mean when you say overated. Heupel will lose to Oregon pretty badly.

I'm aware, I just don't understand. I'm not a fan of Chattanooga as a place to turn a kid loose unless maybe he likes climbing or kayaking.

Like Memphis, we've had a history of kids having problems coming out of Chattanooga. I realize he's probably an exceptional kid but I'd prefer Brentwood Academy personally.

In regards to your last statement, you don't know that. There are a few coaches I would take over Heupel. Cignetti isn't one of them. Again, it's a flavor of the month takefir those that don't know any better

Yeah no. I thought they were a flash in the pan last year, but if you’ve watched them for 5 minutes this year, you’d know they are legit.

Saying they aren’t at this point is the flavor of the month take for those that don’t know any better.

Emotional intelligence is difficult and a different way of life for some.
I’m becoming a believer in bots and trolls looking to cause unrest here in addition to EI factor.

Some of y’all just need to be better.

It had to be said.

Peyton has said publically, he is not interested in HC at UT. Not that he doesn't love UT. but his words were. I am pretty well thought of here now, and i certainly don't want that to change.

He’s not the guy that will compete for championships here. He stabilized the program and that’s great. He’s hit his ceiling. So are we ok with that? I’d say, yes, the majority of our fans are ok with that.

Anyone arguing differently were the same crowd that carried water for Butch Jones until the day he was fired when we saw the writing on the wall in 2015.
It’s not the coach at all. We say this year in, year out. It’s the university and the higher echelons. There are good with 8-4 or 7-5 etc. I’ve lived in Bama for years now. The school doesn’t put up with it. At Tennessee they do. TN is so damn cheap to be so f’ing rich. They just don’t care enough. There you go!

Can someone please give a list of guaranteed, sure fire coaches that would come here and win championships?
Would have to be someone who's actually won a title at some level. That's where you'd have to start. Then look at some real recruiters. And I mean on a top 1-5 level. The list of candidates isn't long if you're trying to go big. Which stands to reason. Mediocrity is far easier to achieve...
