Say I'm overreacting all you want. He does not get our players ready to play in the critical games. He is not a horrible coach, but he will not win a Championship at UT. If you're okay with that fine, I'm personally not. Flame me all you want for this take, I've seen enough. Kirby is out here and his players win games that they play like trash in, ours play well and dominate and still lose, and lose because of stupid mistakes, dropped passes, bad playing calling on both D and O, and poor overall preparation and coaching.
He’s not the guy that will compete for championships here. He stabilized the program and that’s great. He’s hit his ceiling. So are we ok with that? I’d say, yes, the majority of our fans are ok with that.

Anyone arguing differently were the same crowd that carried water for Butch Jones until the day he was fired when we saw the writing on the wall in 2015.

Y’all are great at firing people. But who’s better and actually would want the job?
Did we get a coaching guarantee with JH? Oh that’s right there are no guarantees. You want better and try to find it or you don’t. It’s kind of like being miserable with your gf but keeping her because you haven’t found her replacement yet.

Honestly I think the same as our OP, I think this is about as far as we can get and honestly we’ve been out coached a couple other times this year

Too many open jobs to do anything with him this year. Aguilar is the baller that Nico wasn’t. We would have been much worse without him. Beat UF and Vandy and I am good.
It’s funny to me that you think we can do that.

If you want a good but not great team, Josh is your guy. If you want to compete for SEC and NCAA Titles, Josh aint your guy.
Most just want the Fall Saturday environment in Tennessee. The real power players dont want a REAL championship level program. The last several HC hires at UT prove this to be true. We are a middling program now and have been for about 20 years now. '22 was the exception.

Now you’re gonna get pushback from people saying “you guys always say that”

People are always great pointing out problems and pretty much the opposite at giving solutions.
