Look around the league and coaches who really suck are being fired and they are not on course for 8-4.He’s stabilized the program heavily and lifted them up above average. Everyone is thankful for that.
But look around the league. We’re probably an 8 win team this year. Our schedule gets much harder next year and can just as easily only get to 8 again next year.
We’ve heavily regressed this year despite recruiting and spending at elite levels.
Heupel needs to hire legitimate coaches this offseason and someone fix the discipline and clock management issues. If he’s 8-4 two years in a row the seat will be scorching hot.
And the kick is pretty. Just needs to be true. However many practice kicks he’s doing a day, he needs to add 100 more.Unpopular opinion: max will be fine and is the least of our worries. He’s a young guy that will continue to get better. He’s no worse than any kicker we’ve had for the last 20 years
Losing causes turmoil. Preferential treatment causes a divided locker room. Players want to win. When one side of the ball is perceiving they're doing their job while the other isn't, causes division. One or two players can poison the unity. Coach has his hands full. The next few weeks will tell us a lot.Austin Price referencing potential big portal exodus this year on the pod. Doesn’t sound like the locker room is doing too well right now
This is what is making me lose interest. No longer college football. NFL lite. Only make the playoffs or season is a failure. Less than 10 percent of teams will have success. I’m about out but on college football not the Vols.At this point you’re either in the playoffs or you aren’t. We aren’t with an easy schedule and still opportunities to get there. Heupel needs to show some edge to make the next step.
He didn’t say money was bad, just the “love of money“ which may cause you to make bad choices.Weird take. Having money doesn't mean you are greedy, nor does it imply hubris. Being wealthy does bring certain spiritual challenges, hence Jesus' statement.
On the flip side, lots of poor folks are getting totally bent because their team lost. Wrath and idolatry are kind of a big deal too.
I’m not happy we lost either but after what we have been through with Dooley, Kiffin, Butch and Pruitt, Heupel has been a marked improvement… that’s the inconvenient truth.
They are better jobs, one being the gold standard and the other being the most talent rich state? Both can recruit top 5 in their sleep. We can recruit top 20 in our sleep. Huge difference.
