I don't necessarily disagree when it comes to the bigger programs like football. But you'd have to have your head buried in the sand to not believe Basilio has baseball sources. He has Vitello, himself, on his show very regularly.

Frankly, your post ironically reads like something you read here and have just repeated.

I really don’t care if some people want to make excuses for Danny. Having a frosty relationship with the best coach on campus is inexcusable. He’s done a solid job as our AD but he’s also benefited from coming into a job where the two best coaches on campus aren’t even his hires.

He’s slid by for many years and fans have accepted the price hikes and transformation of the athletic department because we won a lot of games, especially in basketball and baseball (not his hires). My red line was always keeping Tony. Tony is gone, so Danny better win something meaningful soon or he can leave, too.

Every sport we play has vastly improved since Danny White got here. You're upset because your man crush left, I get it. Trying to run off the best AD is absolutely absurd.

Danny has a critical flaw when it comes to people at that level. He can't just watch the organization be successful, he has to have his prints on it and if he doesn't... there's friction. In wrestling terms- he's gotta get his stuff in.

This is the right mindset. He didn’t pull a Schlossnagle and leave us for a rival college team, he went to the MLB. Is what it is. That being said as a Braves fan I’ll never wear a Giants hat lol

The logical choice is Elander he knows the system they operate and the players for the most part will stick around so if he is staying he should get the opportunity.

Danny Dollars had nothing to do with Tony Vitello other than giving him raises, extensions and stadium expansion. But for Tony V's winning ways - there would no stadium upgrades.

Elander or if someone outside they come in and keep the staff the same. It’s a pipe dream I know but anything other than those two options and the jury will be out big time. I think this season will be successful because of the talent on the roster but 2027 will be telling to see if the new coach can keep up with recruiting and spot talent in the portal.

LSU is one of the only teams in the country that turns a profit off of baseball. They would pay to keep Johnson I think. But there are good coaches out there who would jump at the opportunity, especially from out of the league who wants an opportunity to coach in the league. SEC baseball is miles ahead of the rest of the country in every facet.
