I'd bet he has a sincere love for UT, the program he built, and his life in Knoxville. Watching opening weekend at LNS from the other side of the continent had to stir some emotion.

Will get flamed by some I'm sure, but I think it's pretty obvious he has some regrets already. It doesn't matter how long he coaches, no other fanbase will embrace him the way we did.

He got a paycheck and the world in Knoxville with all the love he could ask for.

Now he's a mercenary with just a paycheck whether it be in SF or in Fayetteville in a few years.

That remorse probably fades as he gets into the swing of things in SF, but I agree. Probably tough to watch those guys go kill it in real games on opening weekend when you built the thing from the ground up and clearly wrestled with the decision to walk away from it.
