No Kings

Attended our local No Kings rally here in the Outer Banks this morning. We had roughly 1,000-1,200 people here at the protest and that’s a lot of folks for our neck of the woods.

The only violence that occurred was a lady with a MAGA hat in a car… literally stopping her vehicle, pulling over and tried to grab a guy’s American flag. She told him “that’s my flag!” Anyway, it was ugly and she ended up getting arrested.

Did you wear sunscreen?

I am convinced that Trump's popularity--on the mean--is on the upswing, especially in comparison to the popularity of the Dems, which was the context of the statement that you cherry-picked.

Last I looked, which wasn't long ago at all, the Dems are experiencing a MASSIVE loss of voter registrations while the Rs are experiencing massive gains.

Again, it will be shown in the midterms. I'll see you there, and I'll be gracious. I'll bring you tissues.

On the state and local levels I'm sure "democrat party" is still a thing, at the national level its mostly toast at this point unless drastic changes are made. The sane can possibly take it back over but not sure how.

Yeah .... the 2 most hotly contested states were Georgia and Arizona ..... Even if Trump had won both of those states, he still loses the election. Is that better? LOL.

Michigan and Pennsylvania were not very close as I recall. Biden won Michigan by well over 100,000 votes and Biden won Pennsylvania by about 70,000 votes.
Wisconsin, AZ, and GA were all a difference of about 20k votes or less. So yes, I would say that is pretty damn close.

I looked for a thread to discuss a sidebar I am about to introduce. I don't want to derail this thread but Matt's post serves as a good launching point.

As part of protected speech I can burn a flag, hang an effigy of a politician, shred a copy of the Constitution, hold a plastic or rubber severed head of a politician.

Here's my question: Can I shoot an effigy of the president with a hunting rifle in a manner that a sniper would do it? Do you think that is an expression of free speech on the same level as the other examples?
Something that specific, particularly for someone under the kind of special protection as the POTUS, that might fall under the umbrella of and actionable potential threat. I very much doubt an outright arrest could be made of that (assuming there isn't more in play) but it seems likely that sort of thing could trigg...I mean initiate, an investigation.

I would say that it's a protected expression of free speech but it's pushing the limits of making an implied threat which isn't protected.

Moderate means (in part) a willingness to compromise and work with the opposing side.

No moderate would ever portray the opposing side as "an enemy to be defeated".
Then who are the moderates in the Dem camp pushing to make a deal to get the govt open again? Them wanting Trump and the Republicans to cave in totality to their demands isn’t moderating, but it is a failure in understanding the math. I do hope, however, a few reasonable Dems emerge and break rank with the hardline lefties that control the party and get the govt open again.

There is certainly room for compromise on both sides.

At a rally called "Unite the Right," which was held in Charlottesville, Virginia in August of 2017, white nationalists who were protesting the removal of Confederate statues, repeated the "Jews will not replace us" chant while marching with torches.

It was big news at the time. I can post a YouTube video of it, if you want?

Again, never heard of such a thing. And you’re welcome to post anything you want on here, but I still won’t remember it since it was nearly a decade ago

The only way that it could be debunked is if the Secretary of State was manufacturing false data. I checked, Me.

Anyone could independently check until they shut it down. I think even the ones I checked never appeared to even have lived in Michigan.

The only way it could be debunked is if the Secretary of State was manufacturing false data on a massive scale. You might be right but the question would remain, why was the Secretary of State providing data that people dead people not in Michigan were applying for and receiving ballots and returning them.

Working hard for the Orange Man I see.....

Soros
They were organized efforts set to end at a certain time. Your media sources are trying to spin some conspiracy that doesn't exist..like Obama being from Kenya or Russian networks with Trump. Because smarter than the news.
Soros hired the retirement home folk at $15 an hour, bussed them in, handed them signs to hold, and MSDNC told the idiots “ what an amazing organic product” 😂 degenerate imbeciles everywhere 🫣

They get fentanyl addicts sometimes..thats humorous and sad at the same time

I agree with you that it's not happening, but I said in that post .... "For the record, I don't think the Supreme Court would rule in favor of Trump seeking a 3rd term in office, so this is all likely moot."

I'm only talking about it, because quite frankly, Republicans are continuing to talk about it so much. I see "Trump 2028" paraphernalia everywhere. I pass by a house in my neighborhood every day that has a "Trump 2028" flag on a pole next to the garage. There are 2 sides to every coin. Republicans never consider both sides of the coin. If serving 3 non-consecutive terms would by some far-fetched means become possible, it is the best thing that could happen for Democrats in 2028.

Republicans should stop treating "Trump 2028" as if it's a threat that scares Democrats ... It doesn't. To the contrary, I would love to see it.
They are trolling you. And it's working
