There is no question that there is a void of leadership in the Democratic Party right now, but Obama has been the only Democrat capable of energizing and uniting the party over the last 25 years. Would it be smart to risk making him eligible again?

Running against Obama again would be a much tougher proposition than running against literally anyone else that the Democrats have. For the record, I don't think the Supreme Court would rule in favor of Trump seeking a 3rd term in office, so this is all likely moot. I only bring it up because I don't think that Republicans have considered how this might help Democrats as well.

I agree with you that it's not happening, but I said in that post .... "For the record, I don't think the Supreme Court would rule in favor of Trump seeking a 3rd term in office, so this is all likely moot."

I'm only talking about it, because quite frankly, Republicans are continuing to talk about it so much. I see "Trump 2028" paraphernalia everywhere. I pass by a house in my neighborhood every day that has a "Trump 2028" flag on a pole next to the garage. There are 2 sides to every coin. Republicans never consider both sides of the coin. If serving 3 non-consecutive terms would by some far-fetched means become possible, it is the best thing that could happen for Democrats in 2028.

Republicans should stop treating "Trump 2028" as if it's a threat that scares Democrats ... It doesn't. To the contrary, I would love to see it.

Here is my simple take. Same people who went to No Kings are the same people who do other marches and none of these people will ever vote for a conservative or even moderate. This is the left of the left and no Republican is ever pulling NY, CA, IL. It’s just not a representation of the middle sector of America that actually decides an election.

For the most part, I think people who participate in public protests, marches, demonstrations, sit-ins, occupations, etc. .... represent the extremist elements of both conservatives and liberals. The "No Kings" crowd doesn't speak for me any more than the "Jews will not replace us!" crowd speaks for you.

Based on my conversations at our rally, this is not true. Yes, there were some far left-wing folks there, but many struck me as middle of the road folks who had an axe to grind with the current administration / Trump.

As a conservative I have to say I’ve never heard of a “Jews will not replace us” movement or protest, nor would I participate in such nonsense
