Agreed, but that's no backdoor. That would be a legitimately massive stretch of huge wins @ UK, top-15 OU, @UF, top-15 Vandy.

Not an easy game there. The only scenario I don't see happening at this point is us getting in with 3 losses. Someone will, but our SOS won't do us that favor.

My Hokie buddies don’t want Beamer at all. They oddly enough want Franklin.

Franklin and Tech would be a perfect marriage. It’s not a top P5 job, which is where Franklin struggles; and it’s in a conference that’s basically 2 teams (3 if FSU ever gets their together) strong. If I’m a Hokie, he’s who’d I’d want. I’m just not sure how affordable he is right now and know nothing about their athletic department’s checkbook.

I have a Hokie buddy too and he does not want Beamer. He’s afraid that’s VT’s top target.

James Franklin would be a solid hire for VT. Ours Franklin in an easier ACC and he already recruits Virginia heavily.

I would assume that "promise" is contingent on Banks getting a HC job somewhere. Not on the entire defensive staff getting **** canned.

Fire everyone, give Garner the option to stay on the new staff. Which he'll probably use as a good opportunity to just retire if I had to guess.

Good for owning it. Bama brings out the worst in all of us. We’ll get through it.

It was 2nd and like 7 we ran up the middle bishop gets tackled a yard or 2 short with 29 seconds. We hurry and run again bishop gets the first and we call TO with 9 seconds. A TO with 29 seconds and we coulda ran for the first had a fresh set with 24 or so seconds. That’s enough for 3 full plays and then a FG

We've done that a thousand times before, even vs Bama (I clearly remember a couple times in particular) and nobody complained (because they worked).

You have all the momentum on your side and the defense on their heels. You smash it in and say FU to Bama. Why stop it all to call a TO and let them get settled?? Weak. It doesn't always work (of course), but it has so many other times, because it's advantageous.

20/20 hindsight leads to ignoring solid process-driven decisions.

You’re being too reasonable Peay. Someone must be fired because we lost to Alabama in Tuscaloosa. There are brilliant coaches on the coaching tree that can easily replace our incompetent, horrible coaches. It’s like Alabama has a bunch of scrubs that have no idea what they’re doing. The reality of college football is there’s more parity and the margins are razor thin. The freaking Kansas City Chiefs are 3-3 this year so I guess Andy Reid sucks and should be fired? It’s high level football and one of the two teams loses every single game. Learn from it and try to get better. Fans should also quit eating their own. It’s pathetic and getting worse. Rant over.

He's an über-talented true Sophomore! So he isn't as clutch as Brazzell. He's also not supposed to be at this point! We have great wide receiver coaches on the staff. These guys are getting developed. Matthews has largely played well this year! It just seems many focus way more on a handful of mistakes. Perspective! It's so valuable!

I know football and I know what he has done. I think he can be a very good WR. We have several now and more coming. As we have noted, we have very little at safety and what is coming is questionable

I hope we can somehow get Joey another year like Pavia. The offense will be really good next year. Maybe even get Brazzell to return (not likely). Whole oline back, bishop back, Staley, Matthew’s. Talented young TE’s and WR’s

The time really didn’t matter. Not throwing on first down mattered. You either score or throw an incompletion to keep that one TO.

Disagree. The time mattered, it was the only thing that mattered. It’s the whole reason we were put in that position having to make that call. We don’t make that call with more time on the clock and more plays to be able to run.
