They had 18 more free throw attempts. If you cut that number in half, we win and maybe by double digits.Bowl game, sure. Even the NCAA MM game a few years ago I thought was a bad call. Either one we still may have won or lost, so it's not that simple, but the opportunity was ripped away from us I'd agree.
Watching last night I don't agree. We hit the bonus with 11 freakin minutes to go in H2 as we went dead cold. The only thing keeping us in it the 2nd half for long stretches were FTs.
We were -9 FTs vs Purdue. Yet vs Cuse we were +9. Did we win because of the refs? Hell no. I hate that excuse over a full game. Weak sauce.
It'd be awesome if Joe had like a 5 touchdown first half. Great way for him to go out as a seniorThen we host those Vandy turkeys for Thanksgiving weekend. Good Vols week!
I'll looking foward to kicking Vandy's azz and enjoying every minute of. I'm not going to worry about what happened this year or what might have been in the game thread.
I hope somehow Joe has a great day and gets a lot of love from the fans on Senior Day. And then takes that as his swan song and gets ready for the draft and hands the keys to Nico.
We have beaten 8 teams, so the above is spoken like someone who's forgotten where we just came from.... I'll reiterate WE BEAT NO ONE!
Tim Bank's agent gets all holidays off it's in his contract.....Discussing a game that happened last night, is whining? Perhaps we should discuss the 5 game parlay?
Ok, Ill get back to officiating conspiracies.
@InVOLuntary they sounded like traffic cops directing NY Traffic out there last night.

Trim the verge. $800K. Do it when everyone is off, shirtless if possible. Then tweet everyone that you just ran the Boston Marathon, thus beginning your campaign for HC of University of TN. Waiving like Marcus Aerelius entering the Coliseum after holding the Germanic Tribes at bey for six months, in freezing cold and rain. Exactly, now add in how much we averaged the last 2 years on offense. We would probably be a 1 loss team. Our defense has allowed 30pts only 3 times this season:
34 to #8 Alabama
36 to #10 Mizzou
38 to #1 Georgia
Last year 3 times:
33 to Florida
49 to #5 Alabama
63 to #23 South Carolina
2021 7 times:
41 to #13 Pitt
38 to Florida
31 to #11 Ole Miss
52 to #2 Alabama
42 to #18 Kentucky
41 to #1 Georgia
48 to Purdue
2021:
<11 - 2
11 to 20 - 2
21 to 30 - 2
>30 - 7
2022:
<11 - 4
11 to 20 - 2
21 to 30 - 3
>30 - 3
2023:
<11 - 1
11 to 20 - 5
21 to 30 - 2
>30 - 3
My interpretation is that in 2021 the defense was just not good enough from position to position. Our offense was capable of hanging with some teams though. In 2022 it was Jekyll and Hyde. Dominated some teams and got torched by others. 2 of the 4 games where we shut teams down were cupcakes (though Martin scored 24). The other two games were Vandy and Kentucky. This season I feel like we've played more consistently on defense. We've consistently held most teams below 20 points, but in the three games against the three best teams we've played we lost stamina and allowed >30. Those games we also got dominated in TOP and our offense couldn't do anything for significant portions of or the entire game. Any defense will start to collapse in those conditions.
I don't see our defense getting worse. We should be better next year even though we will replace some production: Beasley, Baron, Thomas, McCullough. If we make significant portal additions as rumored then we can be much better.
By numbers, the defense may not ever be much better in PPG but as long as our offense is working then that isn't a problem.

Okay but I'm too old to run a Marathon....I could power walk though..is that sufficient enough...everyone that you just ran the Boston Marathon, thus beginning your campaign for HC of University of TN. #Kevin Steele's from us no longer!
When you do get royally screwed by the refs consistently is it complaining or stating facts? Poor man Yao shoved Mashack in the chest, called foul on Mashack, then built a hut in the paint last night, no calls. There were many other things as well.Volnation has many posters that complain that the Vols are getting royally screwed by all refs regardless of sport and regardless of whether we lost a game by 35 points or won by 50.
