Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

Xfinity is the worst company on the planet for customer service! Tomorow will be day 4 with no service TV or internet and if they would have listened to me from the beginning this could have all been resolved. I told them from the jump that the problem was at the pole, that their contractor broke something/didn't hook us back up or something when stringing new wire in the neighborhood. But No I had to wait 3 days for an inside tech to show up look up at the pole and say yeah that's broke. Now I have to wait another day for someone that maybe can fix it. When I asked the same contractor is right down the street why don't you tell them to get their ass over here and fix it they tell me they can't do that. I went down there and none of them spoke English, they are all some kind of eastern European.

A few more months and I can tell them to piss off. <rant over>

I turned in Xfinity recently and get a notification that I would be charged for not returning the equipment. And then had to argue that they wrote the incorrect s/n down for their records when my box was changed 3 times over a week period last year. Make sure you hold your receipt.
Cannot even leave that gawd awful company without BS.

So my contracting gig is going just peachy. I finished setting up the piece of **** old ass laptop they gave me (it was fine capability eise it just had four years of user abuse on it) and knew how to attack the assigned task this morning. That task requires license server access on the network for tools. Tools I’d spent almost a full day figuring out what I needed and setting up

So when I try to log in this morning my smart card reader is broke. Thus I cannot get my credentials to validate. Thus I cannot get to any servers or the time card system.

IT is in self important mode and says two days before they can access it. I say works for me see ya next week then I’m not working Fridays!

And when I get the new computer there’s gonna be about another four hours of tool installs to do again.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

I knew it! You actually get paid to do NOTHING! You sux.

The second CEMC has their fiber optic available I’m switching. I had a belly laugh today when Xfinity told me I was out of contract but if I would sign a 2 year deal they could offer me this huge discount.

BTW..I even had to argue about my cancel date. I had turned in my kit and even called them a couple of weeks prior. They are a Zero rated company that has wasted countless hours of my life.

BTW.. you are about to get slammed with emails so make sure you unsubscribe and they might stop sending them after a couple of months.

It kind of pisses me off that I worked decades for a corporation that had to make a profit, and you worked for a sorry ass POS government teat sucking company, and you probably made more money, got better benefits and didn't work nearly as hard as I did. I guess I was a dumbass.

Why should it piss you off? If you were happy with what you made and liked your job then don’t get eaten up by what’s on someone else’s paycheck someone will always make more.

And we are a public company and have to make a profit also. The company didn’t get this large by accident it had to execute at some point. Granted today as a huge contractor they’re probably too big to fail. But for my career I had to work my ass off and help take a Dept that was on the cutting block to be dissolved in 1996 and turn that dept into a $1B division today. And it didn’t get there by sitting back and sucking on any teat but could probably do so for a while now. Fruits of your labor and what not. Which I’m getting to take part in now too 🤷‍♂️
