Bless your heart. Your mental gymnastics must be tiring. Dont forget to hydrate! The modern country of Ethiopia has nothing to do with the Ethiopia of antiquity. To the Greeks Ethiopia was all of Africa south of Egypt. Essentially what we today call Sub-Saharan Africa. And last I checked West Africa was part of Sub-Saharan Africa.
It's no different than how Ancient Rome didn't just apply to the modern city of Rome but to a vast empire that stretched across Southern Europe.

lol. I read books, especially fiction, much like you do it appears. You're like the polar racial opposite of a Qanon follower. You might need to open a book. Ethiopian in the Ancient World was the equivalent of Sub-Saharan African or Black African today. It didn't just apply to the modern country of Ethiopia. The modern country of Ethiopia simply took the name that used to apply to all of Africa. Similar to how the modern country of Sudan took the Arabic name for all of Africa. Sudan in Arabic translates to "Land of the Blacks" and used to apply to the entire African continent. Not just the lands that encompass the modern country of Sudan.
Sudan, Ethiopia, and Libya were all ancient names that used to apply to the entire continent of Africa not just those modern countries that today have those names. If you read you would know this.
Are you still using the Iliad and Greek Mythology for primary texts? You might need to open a book. Ethiopian in the Ancient World was the equivalent of Sub-Saharan African or Black African today. Instead of just making a silly attempt at insult with "You might need to open a book" why not provide a couple of books to read (beside the Iliad and The Odyssey). You might need to open a book. Are you saying I implied Africans didn’t exist? Lol wut?Use common sense for a moment. The Harry Potter novels are about British kids. Does that mean the UK and British people don't exist because they're alluded to in fiction?
If you're serious about learning more on how the Ancient Greeks viewed Africans then I would suggest the works of Herodutus (Histories) and Diodorus Siculus (Bibliotheca Historica)
Herodotus - Wikipedia
Diodorus Siculus - Wikipedia
Yeah..you might need to re-read your like their homeslice. Here's the Wikipedia link for what the Ancient world thought Ethiopia was since you are not well read: Aethiopia - Wikipedia

You referenced the Iliad and Greek Mythology as sources earlier. Are you saying you didn’t now?
Stop playing dumb. You were trying to refute my claim that when the Ancient Greeks used the term "Ethiopians" it was in reference to Black Africans as a whole rather than referring to the modern country of Ethiopia. Whether it's in mythology or in actual historical documents how we use language stays the same. That's why I used the Harry Potter example. In Harry Potter, JK Rowling references the people's of Britain. In the same vain Homer references the Ethiopians in the Illiad. You tried to be snarky by acting like we can't use works of fiction to reference actual lands and peoples.
With that said, I gave you actual Greek historians talking about who and where Ancient Ethiopia was. Thus rendering your entire argument mute.
You’re confusing me with another poster. I never once argued with you about anything related to Ethiopia - that was another.Stop playing dumb. No. You might wanna read actual books. That link just gave you a quick overview. Your ignorance on this topic fooled you into thinking it has contradicted anything I've said thus far.
Words can have multiple meanings. For example, Indian commonly refers to someone from the South Asian country of India. But in United States we also called the Native Americans "Indians". If I said people in the United States call the natives of their continent "Indians" would that be false? Of course not. Similarly, the term "Ethiopian" had multiple applications to the Ancient Greeks. On the one hand it referred to the country of Nubia that lay just south of Egypt. It also referred to lands south of Nubia of which the Ancient Greeks had no direct knowledge. It was also a blanket term for anyone with black skin as the word itself meant "burnt face". The Ancient Greeks called the Indian subcontinent "Eastern Ethiopia" for this reason. To them the peoples of India had black skin like the peoples of Africa so they referred to both groups as Ethiopians.
