Joy and Jennifer are hyper aware of skin color, attire, and embrace between friends. Ironically some here are hyper aware of attire...especially shoes.

There are right wingers on VN who are definitely not racist and always made a stink about trying to disprove every alleged instance of racism, and it feels like they've had to give up on that completely. There is outright racism everywhere all the time.

In addition to the fact that blacks in Africa are the ones who captured, enslaved, and sold their fellow men and women into slavery...there's the inconvenient truth that approximately 1/3 of slaves sold in New Orleans (largest port/slave market of the time) were sold to black slave owners. Again, enslaving their own people. Then there's the fact that less than 1% of households in the US owned slaves at its height...not 1% of people even...but 1% of households usually constisting of families. So only a small fraction of 1% of people actually owned slaves. The men, being head of household, of about 1 in 100 homes in the US at its peak. My family has never owned any slaves. My aunt has traced our geneology back to Europe. Likely less than 1% of Americans have a relative many generations removed from the present...which actually did own slaves, and a significant portion of them were black themselves.

Slavery is awful. People of every race and nationality have been enslaved over our history though. Hell, slaves are sold right now today in Egypt and some Middle Eastern and African countries. Men, women, and children. Its horrific and should be condemned by everyone. The nonsense from Democrats and the Left in the US that black Americans are owned "reparations" to be paid by all taxpayers of every other race is complete and utter BS though. 99% of us Americans not only never owned slaves, but dont even have a distant relative that owned slaves at the height of slavery. Expecting innocent strangers to finance your lifestyle simply because of the color of your skin is both ignorant and foolish.

Its also a self defeating belief system...thinking that the only way a person of your race can succeed is if they are given handouts and subsidies. Believing that you are incapable of succeeding based on merit, and therefore need lower standards and preferential treatment compared to other races in order to succeed. These bad ideas are the recipe for a defeated and dependent population of blacks that rely on government assistance just to get by. Which is exactly what the Democrat Party wants since their flawed ideas cannot compete in a normal democracy.
