Our 1 loss and wins would be much better.

I didn’t like what Kirk said that maybe the Rose Bowl takes PSU instead of OSU because they had them last year and that the Orange Bowl would then take OSU. Meaning UT wouldn’t make Orange Bowl.

Is that possible that the Rose Bowl can just decide to take PSU even though OSU is ranked higher?

Yes. They'll look at matchups, geography and preference. Conferences can influence placement.

I wouldn't buy tickets yet.

They called it "the human factor" on the VQ podcast. All believed Tennessee deserved to be ranked ahead of Bama, but all agreed they wouldn't be because Hendon was out and the loss to SCar was bad.

So let's assume no surprises and highest ranked team goes to CFP

Ga, Michigan, TCU, USC

5. Ohio State
6. Bama
7. Tennessee
8. Penn State
9. Clemson
10. Washington

Rose: Big 10 vs Pac 12 (Ohio State/Penn State vs Washington)
Sugar: SEC vs Big 12 (Bama/Tennessee vs 8-4 Texas or 9-4 Kansas State)
Orange: ACC vs Big 10, SEC, or ND (Clemson vs Penn State/Ohio State or Bama/Tennessee)
Cotton: best conference champion from G5 (Tulane/UCF vs whoever is left out of the other bowls above)

We'd get the Cotton Bowl and winner of Tulane/UCF. And just buy the tickets now if UCF wins because they bowl selection folks will ABSOLUTELY want UCF vs Tennessee for that matchup then.

Maybe they should look at how VOLS fans travel and the ratings for their college football games. (Did you see the fans in the Bahamas for the basketvols?)

Maybe the Rose Bowl should be able to ditch their tie-in with the Big 10 if their champ makes CFP and take an at-large, really hungry Tennessee team (Rose parade is on my bucket list )

If we had one loss rest assured we would be no higher than 6th at best. No way we are picked over any other one loss team. The latest poll shows EXACTLY what they think of the VOLS.

I know what people are saying, but I’m sure the Rose Bowl isn’t just going to be talked into demeaning their event, just because OSU wants a trip to Miami.

That’s a proud group of people that run that bowl. They’ll want the best B1G team that’s eligible.
