I didn’t like what Kirk said that maybe the Rose Bowl takes PSU instead of OSU because they had them last year and that the Orange Bowl would then take OSU. Meaning UT wouldn’t make Orange Bowl.

Is that possible that the Rose Bowl can just decide to take PSU even though OSU is ranked higher?
After seeing how the rank teams, nothing would surprise me.

They'll find a way to drop us to the dukes mayo bowl.

Seems like another way for Kirk to get a shot in at UT. A more backhanded attempt in this case, but calculated nonetheless.

Well yeah, I’m an assistant manager at my current job so I would work out my 2 week notice then start new job..been a manager for 3yrs so yeah definitely manager material..what makes you think I wouldn’t have already applied for said job and getting it before quitting anyway?

You know what, nevermind..I don’t owe you an explanation about anything..just wasted time that I can’t get back.🙄 @volKano

Rose Bowl Selection Guidelines:

“Should a team from the Big Ten or Pac-12 be selected to go to the College Football Playoff, the Tournament of Roses will traditionally select the next-highest CFP-ranked team from that conference. There is, however, a caveat to that clause in the contract.

If the next-highest ranked team is in a 'cluster' of teams, meaning there is another team or teams from the same conference ranked within several spots of each other, the Tournament of Roses will select the team from that cluster that will result in the best possible matchup for the Rose Bowl Game.”

Yes, Rose Bowl has an out to take the Big Ten Champion OR a high ranked Big Ten team. They don't have to take the HIGHEST ranked Big Ten team, just one near the top. So they can choose, and have first choice, between OSU and PSU assuming OSU isn't in the playoff.

Year 2 in what should of been a massive multi year rebuild I'd say Vols are way ahead of schedule. New years 6 bowl sign me up
Perspective is a wonderful thing. This season has been remarkable. Perhaps what is most exciting is the foundation being built, by a genuine head coach whose genuineness is surpassed only by his coaching competence. Tennessee has always been a special place, and Josh Heupel is the right guy to lead this resurgence.

Maybe they should look at how VOLS fans travel and the ratings for their college football games. (Did you see the fans in the Bahamas for the basketvols?)

You think they’ll choose a team with a Heisman finalist, Biletnikoff finalist, and one of the best offenses in college football, or a team that bores even its own fanbase?

I don’t care how many times OSU has been there; if the Rose can get Ohio State, they’re taking them.

Agree 100%

I think this is probably right but I'm bracing for the Cotton. Still a NY6 game and maybe even a better chance to get to 11 wins, but I want the Orange. I guess Sugar is out.

If anybody thinks the polls aren't anything but popularity polls among sports writers and ESPN explain what is out there now. Tennessee will NEVER get a clean shot at anything as long as the above have the final say or just a say in any of it. Until we have a REAL playoff with 12 to 16 teams the same retreads or the latest media darling is all you will get. People from the Northern areas as well as the West will whine and cry until they get what they want.....remember the Notre Dame rule, that is still out there I think. Your teams are actually being picked by people that a) never played a down b) went to a school years ago and have a job at ESPN c) ESPN and their TV presents d) conference people with their own agenda. We should have whipped USCjr, that's on us but the rest is on them.

It's probably more recency bias (I'll use that term because @TN-POSSUM Googled it). We've been out of the conversation so long, people look at what the season was as an anomaly. SC game reinforced that mindset. Need to be there more frequently to get the benefit of the doubt.
How about this for recency bias, fart blossom?
