I’m not sure how much of this years DB woes were talent related or scheme related. Most likely both just don’t know how much of each. But we absolutely need to hit the portal hard for some good DBs and Banks needs to get better at scheming the backend of the defense. If zone isn’t working don’t keep doing it. Run man even if you think it won’t work. You at least tried and, heaven forbid, you might be surprised.

He has to be dangerously close to a degree by now. Maybe he was skipping out on courses towards his Masters degree?

I think that was more on Fant though. Joe was throwing him to the open area away from the safety help but Fant ran a straight seam. I feel some of that stuff is just the receivers used to Hooker doing one thing and Milton doing it slightly different.

IDT he has graduated, though you're right-- he should be masters track. Sometimes, the less inclined keep loading up on electives and deferring the harder courses required for a degree. I'm not sure about Banks, other than he's moving on.

Again, coaches do not respond publicly to locker room issues. Because no matter what they say it will be turned into something else. And also they do not owe the public an explanation of what is going on with their players. Sure fans will speculate. Even some local media trying to get attention will speculate. But that was absolutely unprofessional of KH to spread nothing but rumors as facts nationally and say we would lose because of it. Glad our coach was mad about it and didn’t try to hide it. I’m still mad about it. I’m still glad Herby looks silly. Well done!

Recruiting question:

Exactly how many transfers can we bring in this year? NCAA has ruled that transfers count against your 25-man limit class unless you're replacing players who have transferred out... in which case that is capped at 7.

I also can't find where our scholarship numbers are outside of "reduced" in order to self-punish for Pruitt.

So basically how many more can we take in the '23 class and how many of those can be transfers? Sorry for dumb, but dumb.

Or just be Mark Stoops and make $1M+ per win.

First time I have ever thought coaches deserve the money they are paid. Trying to get and keep a team together is going to be ridiculous. Dread seeing who we lose. Dread how some are going to make bad decisions. Because I become attached to them. Hopefully we gain more talent than we lose. But coaches are going to have to start all over teaching and training a lot of new players instead of building on the foundations they already built.
