Not entirely true. It was the worst, but we did get lit up by Florida, Bama. Heck, even Pitt's backup QB looked good. While I appreciate having a defense that helped us win 10 games, it is also possible that Vandy and Kentucky were the outliers.

What's not entirely true?

3 games this season our defense gave up more than 425 total yards. Bama, Florida, South Carolina (those 3 games are anomalies)
2 games this season our defense gave up more than 70% completion. South Carolina and LSU (those 2 games are anomalies)
3 games this season our defense gave up more than 325 passing yards. Bama, South Carolina, Florida (again...anomalies)
1 game this season our defense gave up more than 3 passing TDs. South Carolina

Even if you look at the 2021 season.

2 games with 70% completion or higher
3 games with 325 passing yards or higher (including bowl game)
1 game with more than 3 passing TDs against (including bowl game)

The South Carolina game was an anomaly completely. What makes it more so though is that Bama's the 1st ranked roster, LSU is 8th, and Florida is the 12th ranked. South Carolina is 20th (and behind us) so they were the only team with a worse roster that was able to put up insane offensive numbers against our defense.

Not sure why you're bringing up Vandy and Kentucky, but those 2 would also be anomalies for the season. Just on the opposite side of the discussion. But we played 12 games, only held 3 teams under 300 total yards and only had 3 teams go over 425 total yards.

This is going to shock people...I actually disagree with you.

If the guy is a team leader and plays at the highest level while also elevating his team to a higher level...then that crap is irrelevant unless he actually hurt someone.
I think it takes away from an "All-American" image. They obviously value what players do on the field more than what they do socially and in the community. The best player in America should be the best in all those areas. . . on and off the field, imo.

Name to watch according to AP.

So this is slightly depressing...

Campbell's CAREER (4 years) stats: 73 of 73 on XPs and 39 of 51 on FGs
McGrath's SEASON stats: 66 of 68 on XPs and 15 of 19 on FGs

Either Campbell's got plenty of life left in that leg OR he'll be gassed by game 3 from all the work he'll get

Hubbs says that the staff has been talking to James Pearce. Potentially could be a portal risk.
They kinda hinted at that a couple weeks ago on the pod. Said something to the effect of ā€œhe needs to keep his head down and stay focused, bc he has a big role coming soon.ā€ and that it was probably hard on him seeing Jospehs get some good reps in while he was struggling to get on the field.

This is still too soon and frankly painful, but we would actually have a shot at a bye and the top 4 seeds under the 12-team playoff format.

My understanding is the top four conference champions will receive the automatic bids for the top four spots, and with the plan to eliminate divisions in the SEC, we would be the ones going to Atlanta to play UGA in a rematch for the conference title. (Because, our head-to-head against Bama would in fact be the determining factor there. šŸ˜‰)

Crazy turn of events in the last nine days, but I’m excited that this is on the horizon because what’s released by the committee tomorrow will in all likelihood be a travesty to the sport.

We talk about rival games and keeping this one or that one in the "new" schedule....why. Let everybody keep one if you must but rotate through the league and have a home and away for every team in the Conference. Tennessee and Vandy have been playing for 119 years, Alabama 105, Kentucky 118, Georgia 52, Florida 52. Is UT Bamas biggest rival, no that's Auburn. Is UT Florida or Georgia's biggest rival no that would be the game they play against each other. So who do you keep. The way sports are trending now the value of a well rounded conference schedule is going to be more important than one or two rival games.
