This year I can WR, OL, TE, RB, DL giving us a bunch of options, especially WR, DL and OL. Very easy sell to transfers. DL if they work they will get playing time, OL is a strength this year and Wright is a 1st round pick. I assume any WR will look at this offense and believe they can get a good path the shine. We will get Tillman and Hyatt drafted early and if McCoy goes pro, he will likely get drafted in the top 4 rounds. If he stays, he will likely play himself into the first round next year. This is the first time we can actually sell people on results.

I am not sure what to make of RB recruiting and the transfers we missed last year.

Yep this year I think the transfer portal will be more important for us to continue momentum. WRs should be lining up for us but may only need one difference maker with what we have returning. TE position we have little experience returning so this is a priority. OL, tackle position is a potential issue. Most of our returning lineman project better as interior lineman with Spraggins being the best of the bunch. We could use 2 tackles if can lure them, but learning how to operate with our pace would be difficult transition. Expect we are fine with returning RBs unless someone really special shows interest.

Punter and kicker positions are wide open. Defensively we should hunt for any and all difference makers at every level depending on how much room we have. We have to improve greatly in this area to keep up with SEC elite. Will be interesting to see who we lose to the portal. Could be anywhere between 6 to 8 players who depart in my opinion.

Honestly, this season I don’t think we will lose many to the portal. I think we will get quite a few though and I think we will look to add a RB, TEs, some DBs, maybe some LBs, D-line, and maybe a kicker/punter. Don’t absolutely need guys in some of these positions, but I think we will try mainly in these positions.

For example RBs, LBs, DBs, Etc. are as thin as TE or Kicker and punter.

I believe the portal will be loaded with quality this year, that's when Tennessee's great season will be an advantage. I agree with others that predict 24/25 is when recruiting takes off but for the portal it's NOW.

OL > TE > LB > Edge > Safety

I don't see where RB is thin? We have 3 good backs coming back next year plus Justin Williams and potentially 2 Freshmen coming in.

im really excited about the portal guys we can add when the time comes. Gonna really help us and we have a chance to do really well i think.

I personally think WR will be our second best position depth wise next year, Hyatt back Bru Squirrell, Webb and Nimrod and Merrill. Plus incoming Leacock and Sillman and Seldon. DL should be our best position with some coming back and the development of JJ and JP on the edges we should be really good up front

I agree. Keyton is coming back and we have limited spots. It would have to be someone special to bring a WR from the portal. To many other positions of need.

I would say if Hyatt returns there is no way possible we take a portal guy. If he doesn't and there is a big potential guy its possible. I just believe we have more pressing needs and have talent at the WR position already

I stated earlier 4 weeks but meant 45 days. Which allows kids to play in their bowl game then hit the portal.

We definitely taking a portal kid at TE (may be the biggest need on offense). We will definitely take a quality OT but I kinda think we could be okay with Mincey and Crawford at the tackle spots next year. We probably want to take one anyway for depth at minimum.

I don't see us taking any RBs unless he is a Gibbs type of guy. I could see an outside WR if we don't like our development there after spring ball. Bru and Keyton coming back and Squirrel next in line if Hyatt leaves.

Sounds like JuJu will be back so we may be good at LB with Beasley and Herring. I think one of the freshmen or Perry could step up as the 4th backer. We are solid at DL unless it's a game changer. Damn near everyone is back except for BY.

I do think we take a safety and/or corner. Even though I like our DB class I think we would want some experience back there. I'll be good with what we have coming back honestly especially if our true freshman corners are as good as I think they are.

I guess we will see who all leaves in the portal though.
