Saban's "extenuating circumstances that we 'won't mention/discuss'" was code for "racial slurs". I'm sure there was definitely fear that her name would get dragged through the mud.I guess I can see why she would be scared to pursue this. We are talking about the fanbase that produced Harvey Updyke, the Auburn tree poisoner.
They can go to hell. The only solution to stopping the mass hysteria of thousands of people field storming is literally murdering kids at the wall of the stands. F THEM BOTHAnybody thinking about storming the field better do it. Saban's complaints did not go unheard. Sankey has already expressed his displeasure to ADs and is moving to force schools to revise policy to prevent incidents involving on-field access. Bama's AD is on the working committee; DW is not.
Sankey's solution mirrors Saban's-- don't hold angry players accountable for hitting fans; force schools to overhaul their security protocols and game management plans to prevent happy students from getting in the players' way. UT is, unsurprisingly, the poster program for this. I'm sure fan-instigated trash throwing will be written into the new protocols, as well.
It's hard not to despise Saban and Alabama.
The problem is 13 other schools are letting Bama, Saban, and Sankey have their way and dictate things. Those 13 other schools need to stand up to Saban and Sankey and remind Bama they're part of a group.Texas and Okla will be interesting. They won't like being smaller fish in Saban's pond.
UT just needs to keep improving our power position in the conference. Win the SEC in every marquee sport, then make power moves when we need to. We're right there in FB, MBB, WBB and baseball. Need to fix softball.

I doubt she used racial slurs. I'm sure they would make the accusation, but anyone with common sense would see it for what it was.Saban's "extenuating circumstances that we 'won't mention/discuss'" was code for "racial slurs". Saban holds Sankey's balls.Alabama fans tried it but you can watch the tape and see she isn't even facing him. But for her, the fight isn't worth it. What I see though is our conference commissioner lacks any balls because this IS the conference's job. Saban should've disciplined Burton and everyone knows it.
If I wasn't clear, that was my point. It's pretty obvious from the video that she wan't interacting with him. It's also obvious that Saban wanted to plant that seed without blatantly making the accusation. It doubled as an implicit "get out of jail free" card for his player, and a veiled threat for her to let sleeping dogs lie or her life would be ruined.I doubt she used racial slurs. I'm sure they would make the accusation, but anyone with common sense would see it for what it was.
Yes!!!I hope we win tomorrow. I think we win tomorrow. Heck, I think we win by at least two TDs. But if we don't, I won't love this team any less. What they have done this year is beyond amazing. They've exceeded every expectation. And they've brought happiness back to a fanbase that has suffered for well over a decade. This is what I've been waiting for for so long.
