Ole Miss is 78th in the country in passing offense, and 3rd in rushing offense.

UF is 91st in the country in passing offenses and 19th in rushing offense.

Miss State is 7th in passing offense, but 123rd in rushing offense.

UK hasn’t played a balanced offense yet in their 3 “good” wins. That secondary is propped up but they really haven’t been tested really. With Miss State you can drop more into coverage and sit on their routes and not have to worry about them running. Ole Miss and UF you can stop the run and you basically stop their offense because they are limited passing. Dart for Ole Miss against UK had a 50% completion percentage and from the parts of the game I saw, it wasn’t because his WRs were blanketed. He straight up missed some open receivers.

Meanwhile, we have a balanced offense with both rushing and passing offenses in the top 27 in the country and an OL that is 3rd best in CFB in not allowing pressures. Oh, and we are the #1 scoring team in the nation and #1 total offense in the country. They can’t just focus on one, because we can beat them both ways. UK fans think their defense is better than Bama.. it’ll come crashing down to earth next Saturday.
Uhmmm...UK didn't "win" the Ole Miss game. Unless you meant that their defense slowed Ole Miss way down..🤔

Oh, no. Good catch. I was trying to say in all 3 games against “good” offenses they didn’t play a balanced “good” offense. South Carolina is average and the other two games were FCS teams.

Procrastination on this Sunday afternoon:

Looking at DB recruiting. In 2021 and 2022 each we signed 2 transfer portal DBs. Not sure if we should expect another 2, because we are probably signing more HS DBs this cycle.
In 2021 (4): 0.885, 0.870, 0.830*, 0.856* - AVG 86.03
In 2022 (5): 0.882, 0.870*, 0.870*, 0.866, 0.854 - AVG 86.83
For the most part, Martinez was involved in all of those as a primary or secondary recruiter.

Looking at 2023 and 2024 commits and targets, Martinez is putting in work.

In 2023 (6): 0.937, 0.920, 0.890, 0.883, 0.875, 0.865 - AVG 89.50
I see that as a significant jump. John Slaughter (0.875) is the only player Martinez is NOT listed as a P or S in recruitment.

Now for 2024 -
Kaleb Beasley CB 6-0" 179lb 0.932 Committed
Jaylen Thompson CB 6-0.5" 173lb 0.913 "Warm"
Boo Carter ATH 5-10" 184lb 0.911 CBs to Vols
Kumaro Brown CB 6-1" 164lb 0.883 "Warm"
Marcus Goree Jr. ATH 6-0.5" 170lb 0.876 "Warm"
Just those 5 would be an AVG 90.32.

Martinez is the primary for all of those players, and they're all Tennessee high school players interestingly enough. They're also all pretty much the same size, so I'm not sure which would get looks at S.

Anyway - Hope this adds some encouragement for the future and calms the nerves on Martinez's future. 2021 and 2022 didn't get much traction. We had 5 DBs decommit over the course of the 2021 class (18 total players).

Aside: 2022 only had 3 decommits. None DBs. 1 decommited when Heupel was hired. The other two decommitted at early signing, probably in response to offers being pulled. Then of course Tony Mitchell (2023) decommitted when Pruitt was fired.

Now, my 2024 Wish List:
2 Top 200 DBs- Beasley is #171 Committed
2 Top 200 LBs- Spillman is #111 CBs to Vols
1 Top 100 RB- Jerrick Gibson is high on the Vols. He's a 5* #7 Overall player in the class.

Oh, and Willie Martinez is getting a lot of traction with Cameron Sparks. 5* ATH 6-3" 210lbs rated 0.9912 for the 2025 class from Baylor in Chattanooga. Would be a huge get.

We need to hope that Bama does not make the SECCG with us. This will be 1 game that Sankey will make sure that Bama gets the calls and it wont be close. Tn will have TDs called back, it will be disgusting. Here is to hoping LSU beats Satan and his demons.
That is absolutely what would happen....and I think a big reason is that they won't be afraid of our fans outside if Neyland.

It hasn't been mentioned, but I think what happened in the screw job against Ole Piss last year had something to do with the calls we got in the Bama game. Those refs wanted nothing to do with enraging that worked up, liquored up Alabama game crowd.

They and the SEC office won't have that fear on a neutral field in Atl.

I know how these types of seasons are viewed by media… if our Vols lose one game we’re done, no playoffs. I’m talking a scenario where we win out regular season but lose the SEC Championship… Guaranteed we are out and UGA is in. Guarantee it. Our only hope is to be undefeated
Lol ok.

The media doesn't decide anything anyway now woth the CFP, even if you were to completrly disregard the fact we are the media darlings this year.
