It will be more like Pitt than Florida.
Florida can’t get to the qb but also protects extremely well. LSU can’t protect the qb but can definitely disrupt HH. Both TN and LSU are fully capable of putting up 40 and causing enough problems to limit the other team to < 40. We’ll need Byron Young, Omari, and Tyler Baron to a great day. I expect it to be another game where the defense will be the story if we win.
Ole Miss rolls them and switches places imo. That’s hilarious for Kentucky to stay in front of us! I remember in 2016 being ranked high and dropping numerous spots for winning but looking lackluster. Kentucky wins and looks lackluster, and they continue to move up. Makes zero sense to me. Whatever! We will continue to do our talking on the field!
I agree our secondary is holding us back. Not sure if it's the personnel or the coaching. But there's no reason we shouldn't strive to be great on both sides of the ball. But we’re not gonna be that with our personnel in the secondary. Our offensive philosophy already puts pressure on our defense. For now we need them to make the 1 extra play or stop.
LSU won’t be able to replicate that 4th down success because they can’t protect the qb when facing a good pass rush. Even if they try, Florida could have easily (prematurely) handed us the game if they had an unlucky drop etc on some of those. The saving grace for us is I hope LSU doesn't pay attention to FL going for it every time on 4th... most teams won't do this and will punt... we need them to take this approach and we may have a chance...
I thought we'd smoke Florida, too, and we should have...if only we had a secondary with a hint of a pulse.Personally, I think we smoke LSU.
Shows how out of touch they are.I appreciate Flowers and everything but early in the game they called him “One of the great safeties in all of college football”

The 1st and 5 wasn't really an advantage after the 1st onside kick. The mindset that we could grind out these yards with a short game played against our strength. What could have been if the Vols had struck and captured an 18 point lead.I thought we'd smoke Florida, too, and we should have...if only we had a secondary with a hint of a pulse.
Again, I'm totally satisfied with the rest of the defense. Omari Thomas is a beast, and Da'Jon Terry, from what I could tell, balled out yesterday. D line has played extremely well so far. Pass rush is causing all kinds of havoc.
I don’t know if spurrier was an amazing play caller as he was innovative offense…. Teams eventually caught up to his system which is why his offensive output slowed down quite a bit….that’s been my point…. I think Hooker is a good qb taken to elite status bc of the system we run.Cut was a great fundamentals and developmental mind…never a superior playcaller imo. Spurrier and Richt always better.
