I know they don’t correlate in every situation but I think they do the majority of the time.
When evaluating how good Pitt is, I look at who they barely beat but were outplayed by (WVU) who just lost at home to perennial doormat Kansas.
I agree with your point, but everything didn't go against us in my opinion. We played horrifically and still won I think is a better way to phrase it. Refs didn't hurt us, injuries didn't hurt us, luck didn't hurt us. You could say most things out of our control went in our favor. We played well below our potential and still won, which is encouraging.Preach. Everything went against us and we still won.
