Okay I need some tech help from someone who knows about this stuff.

As I said before, I bought the kids a Nintendo Wii. Hooked it up into the tv yesterday with an HDMI converter from the red, white, and yellow AV cords. They played all day yesterday with no problems. Today we turn the Wii on and the video is fine, but there's no sound. I have a Roku Soundbar plugged into the HDMI 1 port. I switched over to it and watched tv, sound was working fine. I switched the HDMI chords and put the HDMI 1 cable into the Wii, still no sound. I unplugged the Wii and took it to the tv in the bedroom and the sound worked fine. Brought it back out to the living room, no sound. What the heck is going on? Anyone know?

If main TV has sound bar there is the potential that the volume on that TV is turned off or not set to come through the Roku Soundbar when using the AV input on the TV.

So I'd look in the TV settings to make sure that input (AV) is outputting sound through the Soundbar. On the Wii you can also check this. The other potential option is that on the soundbar itself you have to tell it which input to play sound from (my mother-in-law has one like this).

So check that as well.

I will check this. I also tried unplugging the soundbar and just using volume from the tv. Still no luck. I think it's a tv problem. I've already told my wife I'm buying a new one asap. Deal with it.

If your current TV doesn't have an extra HDMI to hook the Switch into then it's probably a good idea (excuse) to upgrade.

Comparing unit efficiency rankings from Football Outsiders for the past 7 years and projecting 2022 based on Bill Connelly’s preseason SP+ rankings.

Blue team is the SEC West winner. Red Team is the SEC East winner.

McElwain at Florida in 2015 & 16 went to the SEC Championship game without an offense, ironic since he was supposed to be an offensive guru.

2020 is an odd year since it was an all SEC schedule. Hypothetically, we may have won 7 games that year if we’d had our typical cupcakes.

If we could pair a top 25 defense with our offense I’d tend to think we have a good shot at competing with anybody. It’s all relative though. The SEC dominates the nation in top defenses. Twice in the last 7 years we’ve had a top 25 defense (2015 & 2019) and it still finished in the bottom half of the conference, for defense. smh.

We’re expected to have the 2nd best offense (on paper) in the conference this year according to Bill Connelly, at least for now. We’re supposedly getting an OT, WR, RB, DL, LB, & DB from the portal here in the next several days to few weeks. Depending on who we get and who everybody else gets that could potentially bump us up a bit more for our offense but potentially moreso for our defense, which is what we really need. jmo.

I think we can win 7-9 games even if we don’t improve much more on defense given our schedule BUT if we could move up more on defense, we could possibly be a legitimate contender. jmo.

I know to get into the top 20 on defense is a big move but the data shows that SEC teams do that all the time. It has a lot to do with returning production, coaching stability, and the emergence of young talent. It also has a lot to do with the strength of the offenses a team has to face. jmo.

Another big factor that favors over-performance is CULTURE. I like ours. jmo.

A week or two ago I asked for prayers over my brother-in-law’s CT scan. It revealed a contained malignant tumor in the lower part of his colon. We’re thankful for that. Today at 1:30 (cst) he undergoes about a 3-hr surgery to remove about a foot of his sigmoid colon, and they’ll biopsy(?) some lymph nodes to make sure it didn’t spread into areas the CT scan couldn’t pick up. Appreciate if you can lift he and his family up today during that time.
