I try not to share it because I want my posts to be read without any bias! But had a couple of bourbons last night when the TV interview came up during the game, couldn’t help myself!
I understand...I wish I could have kept my mouth shut a long time ago about something personal for pretty much the same reason, but my reasons for divulging that info were completely different..lol.

It's why I both hate and love the tourney. It's great entertainment and a horrible method of picking a champion. It devalues an entire year's worth of work in favor of a lot of uncontrollable factors, including pure luck and ref bias. And it's the format that cfb has been marching towards despite the fact that it's been the regular season that makes cfb special.
Much true.

Though at this point I'm openly biased. If there's 8-12 teams, then we can sell being a legitimate playoff contender. As it stands, that's tough. That's a point very few can currently sell to recruits and I'm afriad it's only widened the gap.

If it’s what I think it is, it still pizzes me off when I read someone that throws it up to you. He!!, we’re all human. You keep being you.

I understand your point but there's very little to justify the playoffs we have. Every year the top 2 teams murder 3 and 4. It rarely deviates from that.

But 3 of the 8 champions were not a 1 or 2 seed.

That's pretty strong reason not to trust a mere 2 team system. That is way too narrow. No other sport or league afaik does something that restrictive. I think at least 4 teams should get the chance to prove themselves.

What's actually worse is basketball could easily have a multi-loss or series-based system, like the College World Series or NBA playoffs. We just choose the chaos that is MM over a legitimate system. It is what it is and I still love MM no matter how poor a system it actually is. Football just can't do that. Too many games for such a sport.

Off topic but phone peeps which iphone should I look at for upgrades? Verizon is switching to 5g and I think only the iphone 12 and above have it. Does the newer SE have 5g?

The secret is taking the entire season off, using your status to get in, and THEN playing ball. All these teams that worked hard and played hard all season are getting punked by the NCAA format.

Yes, that’s really the incentive structure of the sport. It’s not college football circa 1969 where you win the big game at the end of the regular season and Richard Nixon declares you the national champions in the locker room.

Wonder if he actually won any votes for that stunt?

The storyline was written and the seeds chosen for this matchup to happen. It's the only reason so many metrics were completely ignored. While we still could've gone further than we did with our draw we got screwed out of a much better path and we had earned that path.
And that is the truth
